If you had the choice of a 172 or a Cup which would you go for?

Both exactley the same condition mileage, year etc.

No explainations needed just a 1 word answer will do.

172 - the gain in performance dont outweigh all the exrtas etc, cup only better for track really IMHO

If its got the aircon go for the Cup, if not then you need to decide whats most important to you...
