Cup Brakes

My brakes seem to be doing weird things...

One minute theyre cr@p and you have to really press them hard to stop fast and youd struggle to lock them up, then the next minute theyre sharp, precise and you can lock them up if you press hard, which is what they should be like.

Anyone else had this?!

Got that thumping/knocking from the rear brakes too, so going in this avo!

Anyone know exactly what is says about Cup brakes on ACTIS???

Have you been leathering it? They are waz when cold & then spongy when worked hard cos they get too hot... I noticed this ther other day in a wee tussle with a guy in an 850CSI BMW... he was steaming down the handforth bypass with me up his ricker around 100 mph then he didnt like it when i passed him round the roundabout at atlantic ford... So he gave chase & i lost him down bonice hall lane as i was on my way to macc... i tried to stop at the lights near the leigh arms and my brakes were cooked.. i had been driving like a loon pot though!!

Rich,

My cup brakes were exactly the same mate, but that only lasted for about 2/3 weeks after id bought the car.

To be honest, they are pretty crap when cold as seedy says, but ive found once they get a bit of heat in them, they do the job. If youve been used to a car with ABS before youll notice a big difference.

Makes for an interesting drive!!! ;)
