Cup handling

  Saab 93 Aero Wagon
Well i haven't been driving the Cup as it was intended so i went for a bit of a "spirited" drive this afternoon, dispatched a Fiesta RS with relative ease and played tag with a 206Gti 180, before taking in a section of quiet, twisty country road near me.

Now it became apparent that the Cup felt rather unsettled and almost a bit wooly thru some of the bends i was taking. It has worried me slightly.
Am thinking, could it be in need of some poly bushes to try and eliminate the wooliness or is it due to something a bit more major?
Does it need some H&R's i wonder....

To save time and needless comments, the tyres are all at optimum pressure and the tracking etc is fine. The road was also dry but i appreciate that they are all lacking the ultimate grip that the summer provides.
It just didn't feel as sharp as i remember it being back when i ran it at full beans last year on the Wales run.
Any feedback is appreciated.

what sort of mileage is it on?

dampers and springs will always lose their effectiveness (sp) over the years. Might be time for H&R's like you say, but even a new set of dampers and some ebaich prolines will do wonders (fubar did this)

Its just ticked over 32k and is 4 years old now.
I've been mulling over prolines and some dampers for a while now and that drive has kinda helped make my mind up to get them done. What dampers would go well with them?

Eibach do their own pro dampers to go with the pro springs! Either that or you could just buy OE dampers from Renault as the pro springs are designed to work with oe dampers! Personally I'd go for a set of coil-overs, H+R if you have the cash! If you work out the price of OE dampers and Eibach springs, it's a bout the price of a set of FK coil-overs though, this is what I bought and I've been pretty happy with them!

I suspect my suspension has taken a pounding after month after month of driving along the same route to work which takes in probably the worst section of poorly surfaced (as well as speed bumps) road in Guildford.
So im looking at either Eibach Pro and new OE dampers or a complete new set of H&R's....anyone got a spare grand they won't miss?

Ahh nice one. I'll do the same mate. The nice twisty lane that is becoming my little handling proving route isn't the longest but is definitely a good little rag....its fairly hidden away though unless you know the area.
Are you familiar with the road that runs down from the Hogs Back down thru Christmas Pie to Normandy?
