Cup lowering advice

Met up with Tim from Chester the other week and his Cup is lowered 40mm on Apex springs. Mine looks like a bloody monster truck next to his so need to get it lowered.
The problem is I sometimes have been known to take someone in the back and there's usaully a set of golf clubs in the boot!
Will 40mm rub? Should I go for 40mm front and 35mm rear? or just 35mm front and rear????:S :S
For the love of god someone please help me!!!!!!!

it'll be fine!!! mine is lowered on h&r's pretty low!, only problems you may have is if you have an aftermarket exhaust, as this may knock on the rear beam...

my 172 cup isnt lowered yet, im gonna be getting it lowered though, i have a magnex exhaust system which sometimes hits off the rear beam when going over bumps or turning hard, has anynone else had the same problem? if so, whats the best way to overcome it? i was thinking of just wrapping a bit of rubber round the bit its hitting off of to stop the noise? ideas please???

Have got an aftermarket exhaust but it's coming through the bumper so don't think it will be affected. If 40mm is the way to go then that's what I shall do!
Thanks again everyone

another question, on a cup, are lowering springs alone ok, or do you really need the shocks replaced aswell?

its not fitted right, (i spent many happy NOT day under my car tying to rectify my magnex)!in the end i had to chop 10mm off the sleave that fits into the middle box, that then fixed the problem..... but in your case, i think the middle section will jus need twisting round

if your dropping 30mm max,i'd say you'd be ok, any lower and you should be looking at shocks aswell, eg koni, these are a very good setup

that said you'll always be better with koni shocks if lowering to get the full benifit
