Cup on 70k

  172 Cup SOLD
Basically i've seen a 172 cup with 70k on the clock, it has full service history, 5500 quid, what sort of deal does that sound like.....and is it goin to be cained with that mileage??

Not a bad price its likly to be driven hard possibly on track otherwise most people would have opted for the full fat.
See whats its like but I'd buy it particualy if the dropped the price say £300 since the 72k service isn't cheap (cambelts etc)

Its expensive say £500 at a none Renault place. £700 at Renault.
Alos the brakes may need doing front and rear so that expensive about £400.

Sounds good, slightly high mileage but as someone already said, with that mileage it has to have been on motorways for a substantial amount of it.

Reckon the engine will be good and loose and it'll go like a rocket, just make sure the cambelt service has been done.

£700? Sh!t me! Sorry for the spam.

Dan,

Have you considered waiting a but longer for more cash and getting a lower mileage car, you'll suffer far less problems and will probs cost you less in the long run?

^^^ Dont agree with that, had five Renaults all with more mileage that my newer 172 and all have been more reliable. 70 odd K miles is nothing for a car these days.

mine is at 120k and going stronger than ever like i said in another thread only thing that gave me hastle was the coil pack at 100K which was replaced

As long as it has had a major service I wouldn't worry.

I got 80k out of mine, and it had a major service at 60,000.

it did about 35/40 trackdays, so I can't grumble...

:)

New Engine and Gearbox will only set you back £1500 brand new engine & £400 for a box with a few thousand on it.

Infact, get them to service it before you buy it, with the above ^^^ to be done aswell...

No reason for it to have been on the motorway at all. I know of a few Cups which would if the owners still have owned them have done over 80k and they were driven to death all the time.
Its a bargin though I'd buy it.

Don't get them to do the cambelt though they won't have the right tools and if you don't you risk damaging the engine.
