I have a Cup and use it to commute to work every day as well as "weekend fun", its bloody fantastic. I nearly bought a full fat 172 without ever seeing a Cup close up in the flesh but thankfully it fell through, I say thankfully because as soon as I saw the Cup I fell in love, looks so so much better (in my opinion, of course) and although many would argue it, it does feel more raw and entertaining to drive.
I cant say Ive missed any of the creature comforts I had previously in my Dynamique, you can certainly live without cruise control and CD changer, I dont like leather so the seats were a non-issue. Only sticking point for some is air-con, but come on, this is the UK, if you cant cope with up to 20 days a year of something approaching "reasonably hot" then get a full fat. I personally have found it ok over the past few weeks as driving to work in the morning is fairly cool, driving home doesnt matter because you can get changed/shower after. Only dodgy day was a Saturday travelling up the motorway as its not fun with the windows down, but I came home on adjacent A and B roads, took me longer but far more fun and just what the Cup was made for!
