Cup packs and exhaust...

Not a great price in all honesty. Splitter is broken, no idea why it's still on! Exhaust looks like a Milltek I think.

Not sure on the exhaust, thats not a bad price from a dealer if its had the belts done (which are due) and the splitter is broken, over £100 for a proper one (but most go for a megane or skoda which is much cheaper).

Yeah, i find most generic traders don't know what they're talking about, thought it seems a good price for the mileage providing the belts have been done.

How is that not a good price. I've been looking at 182's for a while and I swear people on cs must all get trade price because there is always scrutiny on how much people pay. I have 5k would like around 40k with both cup packs, link me through your trade please.

You clearly just said that is not a very good price !! I think the op's post is a good price, but you didn't so i'm asking you to better it with my criteria. Plus it's near bonny scotland, so add petrol money on to it and a refurb !

Have been searching for a while now, most are high mileage for that money in that colour anyway :( plenty of options if i want silver or black. Thanks for the replies, i take it it has both cup packs going by the spoiler and wheels?

  TTRS & V50
Yes it has ^^

I know tell me about it, so many silver's. Thats what annoys me, people on this forum always jump to comment about, 'corr, that was pricey', or 'i can get it cheaper than that', but in reality it's bulls**t.

Just hold out until you get what you want tbh. I would have snapped a silver one up ages ago, but it's not a colour i want.

  Mint 1*2's for sale-
People with money in their pocket rush into buying a car- simple, most dont have the time or dont want to wait for the right car to come up, also 90% of joe public dont want to travel, its just the 10% that are enthusiasts are perpared to go that bit further- after all a 100 miles trip worth say £40 in expenses is worth it to buy the car you want-

5k will get you a good solid car-- it will get you a 40k Artic blue, silver & you MAY get a black one on an 04 or 54 plate if you are lucky, if you want the premium colour of racing blue your probably a bit shy.....

At the end of the day there arent many bargains with 'generic' traders- especially as the giblits dont know about the cambelt changes- so you are left with a specialist trader ( Eg all vehicles, DS cars etc etc) or the gauntlet of a private sale-

If your buying private- know exactly the spec you want, go for low owners, low mileage- FSH-- budget belts £500 if they are not done ( preff not done because the right specialist can do it)

If you went through PH, AT, Top Marques, Ebay, & every other avenue for your spec & price theres probably around 10 cars that fit the bill- the rest are pisch.......

Best of luck
Steve

Gav – I went to view this car last Saturday

Bodywork not in bad condition, no dings/scratches – interior not quote as good, steering wheel thumbgrips just been taken of leaving the sharp hard plastic.

Exhaust is a Scorpion 192.

Dealer wouldn't let me drive it unless I was going to buy it if I was happy so got no clues how it ran – prob because their place is at the end of a potholed dirt track!

3 previous owners from what I remember, but dealer knew nothing about it really, thought the exhaust was standard! Yeah and the front splitter's f*ked

If that was me Id try & haggle this down to 5.5k & borrow the money to buy it-... instead of a tired one...

S

If you'd buy that for 5.5k i'll take the recaro's, H & R's and Trophy wheels off and you can buy mine for that price. Mine is a '55 and has done 65k but has had the belts done by Fred 10k ago.

Personally, I hate BG. I needed a car pretty quickly and it came up at a decent price with the things I wanted. If I could of held out I would of, ideally I wanted an inferno. If someone offered me a swap for an inferno/rb/ly I wouldn't hesitate.

With respect and as has been said I was speaking as a prospective private sale-- I know what you paid & yes you got a good price, however all it does is highlight my point that you need the right car to come up at the right time, as opposed to getting one because you want one- obviously that one was available just at the right time-

I think the thing you missed is mileage- & value of differencewhich is 100% key

In terms of prices though the difference between 65k & 47k ( or lets say 50k & 70k) is around ~£ 750 ( on a 55plate) & if we go from there my 5.5 offer is somewhere on a par with yours..... you did however have around 1k net on parts if you could be bothered to split-

Black cars are a b**ch to clean-- yes & they show swirls--- Plus being a high miler the front ends always look tatty unless you freshen them up-

Anyway- the OP isnt probably going to buy that anyway---

Agreed. For me, although it's not the colour I would choose, it came up at the right time.

Turns out the belts haven't been done on that car, the dealer said they haven't been done as they are due at 72k or 5 years, not sure what year they're in but I make the year 2010...

CBA to be honest, 3 days for a reply and they wouldnt let someone else test drive it unless they bought it, not the car for me...
