cup splitter Dilema!

  Golf R32 & 172 CUP

Right i have just got my cup splitter - and went out to look at fitting it last night - looks pretty easy - with the dips where the current screws in the bumper go it helps it line up.

But im worried im not going to get it to line up propley and also drilling into my car (well the bumper)

Is it really that easy to fit this!!?? im pretty good with my hands (or so im told) ;) but this is one job im not looking forward to :(

No just drill the pilot holes in the splitter, not the bumper. The self tapping screws will sort themselves out attaching themselves to the bumper. Use some strong tape, or a mate, to hold the splitter in place on the car.

Its easier if you have someone to help hold it. I had a friend hold mine, we then taped it up to the bumper and drilled it while it was in place. Really easy, just get the car up nice and high to make like even easier.

If you feel the underside of the bumper there is a line which the back edge of the splitter will line up with. Thats how I did it on my 172.

By the way, drill very small holes as the plastic is soft and the self tappers will have no problems getting through it.

Hope that helps.
