Cup steering knocking noise

When turning the steering further than you do in normal driving eg: turning round, I get this knocking noise, almost a cracking noise at a certain point and you can feel it through the steering wheel.

Is this a common problem with cups? My previous car had a similar problem and it turned out to be the steering UJ. Anyone had the same fault??

Full lock?

Not completely full lock (not the wheel knocking on something, and the car IS completely standard and not hit anything), almost full lock I would say, and when you get it to that point you can turn the steering left and right slightly and it will knock each time!?

repaired lots at our garage it needs the top struts modified take it in to Renault they should sort it
