Cup Suspension

  RS Clio 182
My 182 has Michelin Exalto's fitted alround. I know these come as part of the Cup suspension but were they also OEM fitted to the standard 182?

The reason I ask is because I am considering upgrading to Cup suspension but my 182 may already have it. How can I tell if Cup suspension is on the car? Colour/Type of springs etc?

If its just a matter of Michelin Exalto's with standard suspension on the car can I still obtain Cup suspension from Renault dealers or need to find other specialists?

Thanks for any advice

Its not worth retro fitting Cup suspension from a cost point of view as it'll cost you hundreds which could buy you coilovers instead

All 182's came with exaltos so thats no clue

Cup suspension is only 5mm lower than non cupped so not visibly noticable

When buying a 182 new from reno the cup suspension option was only £200 extra and worth it in the eyes of most people hence why the vast majority of 182's are Cupped

the bolt spacing on the dampers is different isnt it?

normal 182 54mm (??) and the cupped dampers are 60mm

Thanks Rich.

Was in dealers today and yes I would have to buy the suspension parts seperately and would be costly because the Cup suspension is not abvailable as an "after market" fit. Looks like a case of having missed out on having not had it fitted as an option on car I bought. As I won't be track using the car I'm more than happy the way the car handles as standard :approve:
