Cup Suspension

I have a 172 cup, ive purchased some coilovers but have since been told they wont fit my car as they are for everything apart from cup? What is the difference?

It's only the bolt spacing on the 182 cup and trophy that are different afaik

The spring/damper unit bolts to the hub with two bolts.

The bolts (or rather the holes on the hub) are 54mm apart on the cup and 58mm apart on the non-cup suspension. (IIRC, the numbers might be backwards) This is why they will not fit.

You could have the coilovers modified, but it's only worth the effort for expensive coilovers.

Do a search for "hub bolt spacing" for correct numbers or maybe even "172 cup coilovers..."

So much fail in here!!!

172 ,172cup and NON cup/cup packed 182 have 54mm spacing

only 182cup /cup packed and trophy have 60mm bolt spacing
