custom 172 exhausts

i have the option of gettin a custom exhaust made up that looks like the recessed one available from the big tuners. now obviously i would prefer to have one of those but cant afford the near 400 notes to get it. this company here quoted me 170 for a custom stainless steel system, fitted with the standard tail pipe and a choice of noise levels, obvioulsy ill be goin for a quiet one due to bad experiences before with exhausts.

big questions is, stainless steel for the system, is it 2 of my mates had their diesels pipework done. one was a Focus TDCi with an St bodykit, both pipes working. The other was a golf tdi with GTi bodykit fitted, both look spot on.

what you guys think?

it all depends, if you have seen a few of there systems and are pleased with the quality then it will be fine,

as long as they can get you the sound your after, then you cant really go wrong at this level IMO, unless your spending thousands of pounds on other modifications on a quest for huge BHP

as long as your happy with them, there should be no problems.

what bore pipework are you looking at?

im not sure. is 2.5" the standard or what?

the amout of reworking done on the focus was good and to get it looked just like an st was brill! no note off it but think that was by choice.

he said in the email its top grade stainless steel, if that means anything
