Custom Reg Plates - illegal?

  Clio Dci100 Dynamique
The registration plates on my car seriously need replacin cos they've started to change colour...ewwww

A few months back i bought some nice reg plates but with a slightly different font which i beleive are a little bit smaller too.

Is it ok to put them on the car cos ive heard the'r illegal but seen lots about, wot do you think? could i get a fine?

I'd have a look on the DVLA website. They're getting quite strict on it. Characters have to be a certain size, and have certain spacings.

Yes you'll get probably get pulled, as for a fine probably. It depends on how bad they actually are, the police on the day & what they are generally like in your are tbh (some police are a lot more harsh than others)

You need the standard font, size & spacing to remain legal. You can have a cut down reg plates, but the gap between the letter to the edge must still be 11mm.

I quite like f0xy's plates. Been thinking about getting some. They legal?

Nope, anything other than the correct font in both size and type, with an eu/gb etc logo on it, marked with a BS no and the name and postcode of the seller is illegal.
