Damper bolt keeps loosening

Car  BMW 330ci
Basically I fitted some raceland coilovers the other week and I kept hearing a knocking noise so I put the adjusters in the back and I soon realised it was the fact the damper bolt was loose so it was rattling around. I tightened it up but when I drive for a couple of miles it becomes loose again. It's the same bolt which was on the original dampers so I can't see why it's not tightening and staying tight :s. Also the rear adjuster bolt is doing the same :s really don't understand why. Also with the raceland coilovers how do you adjust the rear spring height because ATM it seems like you either have the adjusters in or out and that's the only two heights :s

Sorry it's a bit long winded but been having a few problems. Any help is much appreciated thanks in advance :)

i'd clean the threads with some brake cleaner and put some threadlock on them,

nothing to adjust with the c spanners??

I have cleaned them and put new grease on. And what's threadlock mate ?

And yeah but like there is no way that they can change in height :s

Is it a nylon thread nut? if not buy one and then use threadlock and tighten it up with a torque wrench to the right settings and it should never losing off again

Check the threads thoroughly also if you're putting coppaslip on them that won't be helping. They don't need anything like that on them.

thread lock needed. Had the same problem with my ast top mounts until i did this
hmm may have to look at getting some of this then :\

you have weak wrists ;) do them up TIGHT

haha, maybe mate, but I done them as tight as I could and then got my dad to tighten it again.

Try replacing the bolt, it shouldn't be coming loose if your tightening it properly

thats what i was thinking :\

I will check them again but I think it may have sorted itself out as it isnt loosening, just the adjusters bolts keep loosening now :\

If you tightened the bolts up until you couldn't move them you might have stripped the threads, stick some new bolts in.

Just man up! Use a long bar on it an you'll soon see how loose it is when you think it's tight!
