loads of pics when it comes, interested to see how it comes, i.e with any clips bolt holes etc

I'll be sure to mate! Fairly certain it comes by itself though.

My advice is primer it and wait for it to FULLY dry. Then LIGHTLY apply a fine coat of blue, wait a few mins, apply some more and do it in stages till the colour looks uniform. Give it 15 mins or so and give it a nice few even coats of lacquer preferably in a well lit area so you can see it start to shine compared to areas you havent. DO NOT RUSH IT

Cheers for the heads up man! Will post pics of my progress.

I don't think i'll have a problem with the spraying this time as it's new.

Im sure i have heard of a couple of peoples paint reacting when they are painting the v6 rep spoiler, might be worth looking into it and possibly barcoating it before priming it :)

Oh s**t really @Luke... ?that doesn't sound good! I'm going to key it with 800 grit paper before spraying and going to use high build primer hopefully that will be okay!!
Yeah hopefully that should be ok, worst that could happen anyway is you might end up spending a lot of time sanding, but if it does react barcoat should sort it no prob. let me know how it goes? :)

To my surprise it came with bolts and the new rear screen washer and pipe and also fitting instructions!

This is where the brake light goes, the little dimple to the right (might even call it an inverted nipple for the lols) is the location of where you are to drill a pilot hole for the brake light. It's there for a reason.

And the bigger cavity is for the brake light connector to fit through, this was filed down so that my brake light fit through.

My new windscreen wipers came. They're genuine Bosch flat ones which I got from the bay

I then started removing the old spoiler to test fit the new one before painting. Spoiler off!

Fitted my original brake light.

And on the car. I didn't do it up tight so it looks like it doesn't fit flush but the bolts are on baby tight. Reason for doing this is just to make sure everything lines up correctly as i'm not going to want to faff around marking and drilling new holes once it's been painted. Good job I did this.. later pics will show.

The best thing about it is that it doesn't catch the roof like the proper renault V6 spoiler does which requires shorter boot struts, the final price of the renault spoiler and boot struts comes to £515!! :O

And my biggest complaint with the spoiler is that the middle two bolt holes do not line up with the cars original holes. Not an issue as i'll just mark and drill new holes there but still, you'd think they'd line up.

Overall i'm impressed with the spoiler for the price I paid £73. The quality of it isn't fantastic due to it being fibreglass and having a few manufacturing marks but i'm sure once i've sanded it down, keying it for paint it will look great.

Really happy with it and I think it's going to transform the rear end completely. Thanks for reading

Thank you mate that's so nice to hear :) Do you have a thread for your car I could have a nosey at?

Yeah it's a v6 rep atm and the other one was a Cup spoiler.

The cup spoiler looks so good but I think the V6 is a little more rare!

Your other spoiler wasn't a cup spoiler, it was a standard spoiler. The cup spoiler brake light won't fit in a V6 spoiler...

  RB 182 FF
Sorry, the original spoiler on your car wasn't a cup spoiler then? Anyway that V6 rep looks great! I quite fancy one of those!!

The new spoiler looks fantastic, and what a bonus that it comes with the water nozzle and mounting screws. Cant wait for mine to arrive now !
Hopefully should be here on wednesday if it is as quick as your spoiler was delivered.

Two things I noticed that Im going to change :
The pre cut water nozzle hole is in the wrong place, its here on a trophy:
E4TdlqP.jpg

And Im not 100% sure on the two lines along the top of the spoiler - I guess they have to be there to stop it catching when you open the boot. I cant find any pics of trophy spoilers so perhaps they are like that on the original spoiler.

Have a good weekend
Gus

That's actually a really good point, where the f**k is the hole for the washer jet on this spoiler?! hahahaa

Haven't noticed a hole!!

Yeah I mean, the two lines are apparently to stop it from catching and it sure is close when lined up! Was thinking what would happen if I smoothed it but it will most likely catch.

And you too mate, have a good one :)

I actually think the rep spoiler water nozzle underneath looks better and more tidy than the Trophy/V6 spoiler!

Oh... whilst i remember when you test fitted it the little red plastic clip things that are on your car (to help align the spoiler) might need to be removed as I saw in the image above that there is no alignment hole that they fit into. On the pic i posted above look at the left where the two mounting screw holes are - to the right of that is the raised spot where the little red clips are meant to slide into but there is no hole.

Doesn't look too shabby mate!!! Yeah first thing I noticed was the lines on top and was wandering if you knew about the gas struts as you hadn't mentioned it! Now that I've seen it mocked up I genuinely think I prefer the slightly smaller cup one, as that looks hauuuuuge lol I think it will look a lot more tasteful when its painted!

And it's to be expected that the holes don't line up on a glass rep! I'm quite surprised some one like Chris at CMComposites hasn't made one as I'd thought it would be something more popular.

What do to need a washer jet for? Haha all mine is removed my car is always clean enough to see out the back :tonguewink: haha!

So does it not retain the original red locating clips then as optical mentioned?

Plus by the sounds of it I'd have to buy a non cup light for it to fit? That's so weird they did the lights like that lol non cup fits the trophy and v6 but the cup ones don't?

Yer i know what you mean it looks mad on a non V6 Clio. I haven't started my Thread yet as i have only had it for a few weeks. Im not sure what I'm going to do with it yet lol

Yeah you would need a non cup light - they are really cheap though, one in the forsale section right now for 10 or 12 pounds. dont think that they are much more than that brand new either.

I'll grab some when I'm home later.

Yep, with struts from Renault it is £500. Crazy money. I got mine from a friend on here who wrote his trophy off with Struts for £200 :)

Probably mate @williamsclio1 managed to get a good price for one I think, £263 I think?

Painted it today Dan?

Sort of. Managed to sand it down, etch primer it, then have got three coats of high build primer on it at the moment. No lines so far so it's going well!!

Now do I wait for it to harden overnight then spray the basecoat and lacquer tomorrow or do it all tonight?
