Dash Lights

Hi

GF just bought Clio Nreg 1.2 RL Oasis, but plug on wiring loom behind stereo was cut.
Got Halfords to install new stereo along with re-wiring, only for the system still not to work, they blamed the speakers n said she needed new ones. Anyhow I took a look behind there and they seem to have joined the incorrect wires together for the speakers. Disconnected some and put them where i thought and hey presto speakers work lovely.

Only prob now is why dont the dash light (speedo/petrol/glovebox etc)work?!!! been told by a friend that one of the wire behind the stereo may be linked to dash.

Anybody know what wire? and where do i link it to?

hmmm theres an illumination wire but that shouldnt normally effect the dash lights as it only becomes live when the lights are turned on so that the stereo lights up even with the cd player turned off. i think using halfords iso adapters the illumination wire is purple and black so might be an idea to check that isnt shorting with another wire. cant think of anything else sorry mate

are you sure the fitter at halfords have messed something up lol

sounds like the illumination wire at the stereo has be grounded when the lights have been on

have you checked all the fuses are intact?

yeah, i had this on mine. As Dink says, check your fuses as it sounds like the illumination wire has been shorted to ground.
