dci 80 or 1.4 16v

Hey im lookin at buying one of these when my insurance runs out next week, have around 3.5k to play with. Just thought i would get some opinions about both cars, i plan on modding whichever car i get btw.

dci is the better option. More torque, remappable, almost free to run and will quite easily beat a 1.4 when up to speed

DCI would be my option. Moving over to the 1.4 is a bit of a pointless upgrade tbh. Not that much quicker, use more fuel and I imagine it will cost more to insure.

Ring adrain flux for insurance on a 172. You may be pleasently suprised. I was.

Maybe see how you get in with insuring one? At the end of the day any lower engined clio with mods will not always be cheaper than a bigger engined one with no mods.

If you can insure the 172 then go for that, although of the two as much as you don't want to hear it the diesely-weasely is the better. I had one, it cost me nothing to run. Tax was £35, insurance was £200, tyres never wore out and it ran on thin air.
