DCI MPG

  Clio Dynamique S DCI 86
Recently picked up my MK3 DCI 86.

I used to average about 58 in my MK2 one combined, however in my new one it struggles to break 50 MPG even driving steadily on the motorway, the only way is to average 50 on the motorway which is just stupid.

The official figures say 64 combined which I haven't even come close too.

The book says just had Oil and Air done, any ideas?

That would be top, my 80 got 55ish when doing 80-90, 86 will struggle above 45 when doing "Normal" M'way speeds so 75-85.

Tried using some redex fuel cleaner, also did 20 quid of v power diesel, someone a while ago mentioned whack 1 litre of petrol in a full tank of diesel to clean the injectors, is this a wise move?

  Whichever has fuel
Oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, set of plugs and some Redex. Then smash it up and down the ringroad a few times.

You'll be full of win after that lot! :D

Yeah, spares gone in pump sealant thing, may remove back seat bench as no ones ever in there. Done a thing of redex, no sparks, only glows which IIRC make no difference once running, going to do all the filters despite it says they've been done.

  Mk3 SX
I've got a dci 106 SX and my MPG has varied over the two years i've had it. at lowest i got 55mpg but for the last couple of months i'm getting 61mpg, dropping down to 60 if i put my foot down here and there. i found i got a lot more mpg after a full renault service last year but i also found it depends what diesel i fill up with. i used to always use BP but the last few months have been using Texaco and have noticed an increase from around 57 - 61 mpg over a couple of months so am sticking with that for now. I also use redex Diesel treatment every now and then which i have noticed has made a small increase.

not really seen more then 55mpg out of mine that felt hard work to get i dont think they as good for mpg as the mk2s
