De-cat or 182 Manifold and sports cat?

I have recently brought a 172 cup and I have heard that 172's benifit quite alot from a decat would there be a noticable differnce in power/revability? I want to keep the standard reno exhaust as im not after much more noise, which leads me on to my next question how noisy would a un silenced de-cat be on a standard system, I dont mind pops or raspy noises as long as it's not boomy.

I understand the decat is the cheap and faily easy option my other idea is fit a 182 manifold, sports cat and a remap this is alot more expensive around 900-1000 but would the gains from this be more worth it than a £100 peice of pipe? also would this also make the engine louder by much??

as above ^ 182 manifold + decat pipe if your worried about noise get a silenced one, but i say be a man go for the straight through one

Hmm, would it be worth having a remap aswell? Also would there be a nocicable increase in power, I understand there is more low down power with a 4-2-1?
Is a decat much louder on a standard system, the only reason i was going for a sports cat is MOT reasons but i suppose the old mani could be put on for tests or hope for a friendly tester?
