Dead clio 182 - Dilemma

Hey guys, reason I am posting this late is because I've just got in, the 182 is dead some youngster came round a corner at about 90mph lost control of his
Car and basically started to drift and his rear end hit me head on, sounds silly but I am really lucky to be alive, wish I could say the same about my poor clio!
Basically the dilemma is , the guy has admitted full responsibility of driving like a knob and the thing I'm panic in about now is, my car had an undeclared exhaust system and decat on it which the police have now towed away, I'm hoping the don't investigate the car as he has admitted fault but where do I stand on this because I'm worried now :/ I've been picking glass out my hands for quite a while now and I seriously feel like I've just done 12 rounds with Tyson, without being harsh I do want to put an injury claim out I've got heavy whiplash but just need advice on what steps to take now?

I'll upload some pics either tommorow or Sunday of the 182, it's not a pretty sight but yeah, all advice very very very appreciated thankyou!!

One of my old cars got hit, and had been lowered, exhaust, wheels etc...not a problem came from it.

Most important thing is that your ok fella, metal can be replaced etc etc.

Your insurance company won't really be checking your car to avoid paying out, HIS insurance company will be checking his though to avoid paying out for his car! I wouldn't loose any sleep about it, but next time declare for peace of mind

You should be fine tbh. The only reason they would bother checking your car is if the claim was disputed.

recently happened to me mate, his insurance will be sorting it out.My car had a towbar roof rack and different lights but nothing eas ever said and i got the cheque this week.

As above, if you have a genuine injury, then put in an injury claim. It's what it's there for if you actually have an injury

If you're not injured, you can't claim (ethically, morally or legally etc). As you actually are, get what you deserve out of a situation you were totally innocent to !

Just be glad you're alive !

Make sure the other party gets fully investigated though for ruining your 2012. And slap their Mum about a bit.

And only claim if truly injured.

Make sure you follow up on your injuries mate, insurance company should offer to sort some physio and/or a doctor to clarify your injuries. Nothing worse than finding you've got back or neck problems later on down the line when its too late!
And as said above, main thing is you're ok really, forget about the car for now and let your insurance know you want to see a specialist/physiotherapist.

Sound to me that you should be ok as you havent got any disputes etc. it may have been a problem if it was the other way around, but as your claiming off his insurrance it dosnt really matter.

Glad to hear your OK and not seriously hurt. good thing the clio has a 4* safty rating!

The side airbags went off but the steering wheel airbag didn't go off, also when I came to a complete stop the drivers side wing mirror was in my lap lol all the axel and stuff were snapped the car was pissing oil everywhere and the wheel has been pushed back and up.

Thanks guys, feel like crap today. Not gunna be the best weekend I've had lol, spent 3 hours on the phone today sorting everything out, got a courtesy car coming Monday morning which I think is a 200 cup lol should be good I'll keep you all updated with payouts, pics of the courtesy car and also now I need to buy another 182 lol, wanna try and get a minter RB 182 or trophy whichever comes first really.

I wouldn't worry about the mods mate. I got twatted by an uninsured driver a couple of years ago. I had a non standard exhaust on mine and all that happened was the insurance company would only pay 50% of the cost of replacing it. Everything else got replaced no problems. Hope you feel better soon.

That sucks Mate, I wouldn't worry about the exhaust all that will happen is they will not pay for the exhaust system as in how much it cost you, I was in a head in this time last year (old man fell asleep while driving and pliers into me at 60mph) and my car was declared on coilovers and weels but only declared to 50mm but mine was about 100mm fully decked tbh I doubt your car will crank over by the sounds of it and the after Market exhausts look fairly similar to o.e systemso i wouldn't worry besides at least your alive , will get a nice claim go for whip lash and trauma to I broke both my legs and wrist done pretty well for me

Hi guys, bit of an update with pics, if an admin is reading this could you add *update* in the thread title thanks!

The car was written off Tuesday morning got a few more pics as requested by some of you guys.




The Insurance gave me £3,400 for the car which I am happy with.
Also update on the courtesy car, another disappointment to be fair lol I wanted the new clio 200 but hey you get what your given..



As far as gadgets go the clio hasn't got shut on it but hey lol.

Now it's just the fun of finding another car I've got an injury claim too Which I am hoping to get a bit of money for combined with some savings , got a test drive in the megane r26 Saturday morning see how it fairs or I will buy another 182 hopefully a trophy or a minter RB182 or 172Cup as long as it's not artic blue.
