debadging - removing the sh*t

  172 M69 eater

hi,

i was looking to debadge my clio but its 1996 with white paint and if i take the badges off theres gonna b a lyer of dust or mud stuff built up round where the badge was. any dieas how i could get this off?? T cut??

thinners, cellulose....etc etc...

If its suck fast.....use some VERY fine wet & dry.....then skim a thin thin layer off, buy some clear laquer form Halfords and go over it...

The stuff from Halfords is actually really really good, great colour match, great quality and you wont notice the diff...all for a few quid.

Theres some aerosol stuff I use which will get rid of any adhesive with very little effort at all. Its called SPRAD, the only place Ive ever seen it is in my local ironmongers/hardware store here in Southend, but it is serious stuff, removes adhesive and grease and has never failed me yet. When you spray it on it basically melts it into a kind of jelly which you just wipe off to reveal a spotless surface underneath.

BenR if you mean cellulose thinners then they are too agressive they will take the paint off like brake fluid, ive always used adhesive remover made by a company called 3m we use it to clean the paintwork after de-badging cars at work and it only cleans the sh*te off without damaging paint
