Decat Help Please...

  182, SRT8, RS4, GT-R
Hi Guys,
I'm getting my decat from GDI in the next couple of days and i just have a few questions.
Is there any special fitting requirements i need to be aware of as the mechanics here aren't the sharpest knives in the draw. Is it just a case of unbolting 4 bolts and putting the decat in??
Also where does the 2nd sensor go as its not needed? Do i ziptie it to something or disconnect it?
Thanks for any help.

the sensors goes in the boss provided.

the pipe itself just bolts straight on as if putting the cat back in.

you may find ur waning engin warning light is on as the sensors will both be reading the same as tere is no cat inbetween! so no diffrence in emmistions!

and in some case the car may run like poop but u never know till u try so keep us posted!
(Im only going buy advice i have been given)

excuse the spelling its tooo early!!!:sleepy:

Just unplug the second sensor after a while the warnig light will come on but there nothing you can do the 182 ECu is programmed differently the 172 is fine unplug the sensor and it works fine the 182 is different.

I have NEVER seen them run any different with or without a decat... the light simpy tells you the cats not working....

but you already know that as its in the garage, not on the car!!!!!!

Andy, have you proved this on a rolling road?

I know the standard ECU could accomodate a cat back exhaust or a peformance filter but i thought removing a cat was quite a bit change in comparison?

I have seen some bog standard cars which overfuel, some at dangerous levels, so i'd be interested to see how just well a 172/182 really copes, or would benefit from ECU fettling.

The std ECU does not accomodate any changes mate. It'll run them, but not to the full benefit.

I lost power with a filter and zorst.
