Decent brakes

  1.2 16v (Race Spec)
Can anyone recommend some decent discs and pads for a 1.2 16v please? As the winter weather draws in the roads are getting worse and my brakes are squeeking and all sorts! Would like an upgraded setup really, not a disc setup on the rear because it's still only a 1.2.

Thanks

Standard disks are good and I'd go with standard pads of just Halfords standard ones. I've yet to have any trouble with there pads. I wouldn't recomend any harder pads for winter as you don't want them to be difficult from cold.
If you want get some 4 pot brakes up front but its overkill for a 1.2 realy .

change brake fluid maybe the only thing that edde hasn't said really.

4-pots are available from k-tec / Richspeed.

Ooops yep your right Yoz that can usually be the biggest thing I've found to help only remembered after I posted.
I don't wish to desput your claim Muckytools but I've seen drilled disks block up and crack on track days.
You don't need uprated pads realy I track my car on standard disks and Halfords pads with normal fluid without any trouble.
Bleeding the whole system will help though. I don't recomend harder pads unless you've had fade before though as for £65 there quite expensive next to the £30 Renault ones or £15 Halfords one which are fine.
