Decided we needed a cheap family car on lease...

  BMW 330d :)
You literally asked for peoples opinions and now you're pissing like a little girl when people give their opinion. Calling people dickheads and keyboard warriors because they look at your new motor as nothing but a soul-destroying box on wheels

Behave yourself and get in the sea

In the wise words of @leeds_182 - "This thread should be locked"

I realise that everyone has different ideas about a car and it's purpose but to be nasty for the sake of it is just not needed. You were obviously bullied as a child and feel the need to have a go at people behind the safety of your keyboard. You should be the one in the sea. If you don't like it thats fine but don't be a d!ck all your life.

It's OK. We just all need to buy a BMW 330d even if we have a large family. It's the clio sport forum logic. Either that or buy a used BMW M3 that will cost you a fortune in maintenance. Like I said before this car is for the mrs and kids. It then lets me me get something more fun for myself that isn't a freezer lol
Corrected that for you👍. If you can't keep up with current trends then you really are asking for the urine to be extracted. 🤣🤣

Tbf I looked at all the options as I had the time during lock down. I'll just buy a rust bucket next time and spend thousands on maintenance and repairs 😂😂🤣🤣
I don't quite understand this logic, I've owned my daily for nearly 4 years and it's costed me nowhere near as much as £6k over that time.

Probably about £500 maximum in all that time? Then I can just sell the car on when I'm done.
I think some people can be a bit deluded that they're getting a mega deal when it comes to leasing a car. Just my opinion

It's basically trouble free motoring for 2 years. But everyone has different needs. But you haven't given any indication of what you paid, if it was a new car etc etc. And it is a lottery in terms of reliability. Not so much of an issue with a nearly new car but if its a few years old then that's a different matter. Plus it's just nice having a new car for a change.

Max spin speed is 1200 but I'm getting a new intake hose and piggyback map which should see me good for 1290 and bring drying times down by 13 minutes.

Not wanting to burden myself with ongoing costs and reliability issues later on down the line I’ve got this.

It’s a brabantia four arm with waterproof cover.
Served me well after an initial hefty up front fee.
Obviously I can’t use it today, it’s too wet.
But hey, different strokes for different folks.

Don't know how practical that is but like you said different strokes..

Looks ok. If it was my money id get a 2 year old tiguwannn for about 15k. Prob cost less over 2 years and 10k and you dont have an hour of bricking it when it gets inspected handing it back.
When I handed back the cactus i had on lease they tried to charge me 500 quid for stone chips.
Can be alot of hidden costs in lease cars.

The damage recharge is not really a hidden cost though. All are inspected to BVRLA fair wear and tear guidelines (can be downloaded from BVRLA website) just people don’t rear the terms of their lease and EOC process. Then moan when they get a bill. Same with excess mile charges that’s clearly in the contract but yet still people act shocked when they get the bill.

In my opinion it’s always worth getting an lease. Car pre inspected prior to EOC. So at least you can chose to get remedial work done prior to collection.

agree with this.

We've only ever handed one car back, but I had a read through the terms and conditions knowing one wheel was kerbed.

I knew their charge was £60 for the wheel and I had a quote of £40 to repair it. So for the sake of saving £20 and the time involved in messing about getting the wheel refurbished we just took it back as it was and paid the £60 charge.

Opinions welcome or not welcome? Or opinions welcome and not welcome?

I‘m both confident and satisfied with my retro purchase. Therefore no opinions will be sought in this case.
Although I’m equally aware this won’t preclude people from giving said opinion regardless. 👍
