i have an old 1.2 ph1 clio,
has 92k on the clock,
bodyworks very good condition,
engine runs very well too,

However!

its had a knock on the front n/s wheels,
driveshaft is bent,
shock absorber is abit bent too,
so doesnt drive too well

theres no spring in the ignition barrel,
the central locking has no effect on the passenger door,

there's only one key and no documentation (only V5)
has tax and MOT (no certificate) but no documents for service history at all.

My pickle is what to do with it;

replace the broken suspension parts,
get tracking done,
try and fix the other two little niggles,
and sell it for as much as i can.

OR

Pillage it for parts for mine (dash, washer pump, wishbone, window motors, bumpers, purge valve and more)
sell as many other parts as i can
and scrape the shell!

would idealy like to make the most amount of money out of it,
i can do any work myself, and have spare time.

suggestions??

not quite sure it would be cost effective,

the waste of potential sales would far out weight the savings in central heating and lighting :(

You will get more cash for it in bits than you will as a whole.

My plan was to break my old car, but it meant it would be in bits for a long time on the drive and I really just wanted rid of it tbh.

If you don't want hassle, fix it and sell it for as much as possible

If you don't mind the hassle of having it in bits for a good few months then you will make more money this way i recon

well id be more likely to strip as much as i can,

doors, boot, glass, bumpers,
shocks, springs, brakes
lights,and so on,

but as you say theres more money in keeping it and taking all the little bits off as people want them. but i dont really want it cluttering up my drive,

but how much would i have to knock off the price for the lack of key and documents

i know you can get a certificate of MOT off VOSA,

book price in good condition is £1100,

with no proof of service history, mileage or ANYTHING,
and only one key? how much would it have to come down to?

I sold mine,

1.2 8v, 78k on the clock with a nackered engine (rattled and knocked)
4 bald tyres on 14" alloys that were wrecked
few scratches and odd small dent
MOT and Taxed for a couple of months

Got £500 trade in for it
