Depreciation When The 200 Comes?

Is it worth waiting on the new Clio 200 coming out before buying or considerig buying a 197, most older ones seemed to be around the 10K mark, was just thinkin how much more they'll lose when the new 200 comes. Anyone reckon R27 will be sub 10K any time soon?

Anyone 197 owners thinking of selling in the next few months?

I doubt 197 prices will drop too much as no one likes the 200 and no one will be buying them! ;)

wait for the 200 to be out for 6months or so, give people time to get used to it and let it grow on them, then prices will start to fall. Also you'll be able to pick up the odd 2nd hand 200 which'l drive prices down further.

Same thing happened to the 182 when the 197 was released.

dont know. dont care. my 197 will always be a nice car. the 200 looks like a granny's gash

would never buy one, would rather cut my c**k off with a rusty pair of scissors

i dont think the 197s will drop a massive amount purely due to the 200, there aren't a whole load out there anyway and they prices are already dropping a bit (compared to the 16 or 17kish list price.

I just traded in my 57 plate with a list of 17k with options and got 8850 for it.

The R27s are a bit earlier too, so its inevitable that there will be some lower priced ones emerging soon as the miles clock up.

i'll go and have a look at one when they come out. in the flesh will give the chance ofr a much better viewpoint than the pictures...

as for depreciation... who knows. i imagine it will hit residuals but i thnik the credit crunch has taken the worst off these cars. obviously prices will still be going down as the depreciate but i don't thni kthe 200 will have a major effect. i guess we will wait and see.

I said the same thing about the 197, hence why I rushed into Renault dealership to get one of the last 182's before the 197 was released.

I do like the 197 more than I did, and would probably considor owning one now if I didn't have the 182, but I wouldn't trade mine in for one, or a 200, would rather have a megane

Given that used car prices are on the up at the moment, shouldn't have a massive effect. If it's hideous as the pictures suggest, I doubt it will have any effect. It's surpassed the Hyundai Coupe as the worst face-lift ever IMO.

^^ mine had xenons, cornering lights, climate control, auto lights and wipers, uprated stereo (cant remember what they call it).

+1

It's not the best looking car imo, I'll check it out when it arrives, I'm more intrigued by the colours available, tbh - and what that green looks like in the flesh!

near same as me, electric folding mirrors but normal stereo, i am only on 7500 miles and got it 16th Sep 07

mine was a Nov 07, 18k miles and i was the second owner. To be fair i thought 8850 was reasonable, there are lots out there at 10k private, but they are not selling well at the moment at all. I was expecting nearer 8k PX, so i feel 8850 was a good price.

Everyone goes on about the looks of the Clio 200. What is it drives a lot better than a 197, has that even been considered?

If someone wants a brand new Renaultsport Clio they will buy the 200 because it is the only option if they want a new one and i'm sure it will be a great drive.
