You should protect your car for the winetre though and come spring (March) give a good deep clean then keep on top of it. That's what most do.

We're not out there in -5 with power washers and 2 buckets! Fack that!

It was fully winter protected, wouldn't like to imagine how many layers of s**t the paint was wearing since it's last wash.

To be honest, once the weather gets better the addiction will start all over again, the results are worth the bleeding fingers and £££'s of pounds.

I'll deal with that hurdle once I come to it.

But it's definitely a love/hate hobby! Each to their own in the world of detailing.

I am just getting into and its becoming more and more time consuming as I get more picky. I enjoy driving round in a nice looking car and I feel satisfied when I stand back and take a look.

At the moment I live at home without a driveway so I drive to a nearby jetwash station and take up a space for about 1.30hrs.lol. costs about £3 in all to use the jetwash. I also get excited when driving up to see my GF's parents as thier driveway is huge, plus some of my stuff is in thier garage. My car gets a real good clean, which I did yesterday.

When the clio does go though I may not be as keen.

Indeed.

I found myself not caring about the car over the winter...it went 3 months without a wash and I just couldn't be arsed.

Now the Sun is out il be cleaning the wheels again tonight...and fitting some mudflaps, my repainted air vent that had chipped.

I love sunny days

I love detailing. Its addictive. Always just used to give my cars a basic wash and occasional wax. A mate got me into it tho and now I love it. Really rewarding and relaxing after a stressful week at work I find. I wouldnt ever trust and pikey or car park job to be washing my car. Just waiting for the right weekend to give the clio a full detail and paint correction.

I find it very rewarding and have always loved it since i was young but i dont find 12 hr sessions relaxing at all. The finishing lsp's are the best time as you know youve got nothing else to do afterwards!!!

No matter how hard I try I just can't enjoy, just feels like a chore. Take them apart yes, clean hell no. Love the results, hate the process.
