Detailing Prices?

  200 Gordini
Normally when i do a car i just say a price that pops into my head from £20 to £100. Depends what has been done.

I've done s3, x5 & 6, bentleys, lambos, a range of audis etc

Im looking to get some fixed prices now so i can make a few flyers. What sort of services and price would you recommend that are perfectly acceptable.

Im not on about corrections for £300, i'd probably do the same for half because i like doing it tbh.

Hows 'Crystal Clear Car Detailing' for a name lol

  200 Gordini
Sort this out after mine yeah haha

Name sounds good but i'd go for just "crystal clear"

Crystal clear in big, then car detailing small underneath lol

As for insurance, not thanks, 2k a year loool
I mean i've never done any damage before and this is just really to pass out to people i know and a couple of i know in buisness etc.

Also cs members if interested, with a discount of course

I may be interested mate, after the full works on the outside, but it's silver so an easy job for you!

Wish I never sold my PC now.

I'll pay £20 for it ;)

Haha.
Seriously though, it is in a bad state, so I'm after a proper wash, clay, polish and correction, then a good wax.

Or just rent me your PC and polishes ;)

I haven't got to say but its not going to be a quick thing.

It will be a proper detail but I just can't be assed writing step by step out.

Also the best products used, again can't be assed writing them all out now.

I'm sure you know :D

How do the prices sound to you lot?

I would be very careful taking peoples wheels off to do wheel details for that kind of money, with no insurance you could easily be out of pocket !

Paint correction is far to cheap, providing it really is proper correction rather than just a quick lick over a PC.

Im with Rich. I wouldnt jack up an X5 and take off all four wheels and clean them inside and out for £25 without insurance!

I have said they are only drafted prices and i'll take all comments and advice into consideration :D

with no insurance?

rather you than me.

Yeah, my mates, and their brothers and that. No drama lol

Im not a business or anything yet, Im 19 and making some money but i do know what im doing.

I voice the same concerns as above about wheels off with no insurance.

Also im pretty sure that name you have is taken by a detailing company, who is a member on detailing world.

Detailing is a funny old business. Head onto DW and do a search over there. 90% population think swirls were chocolates. Very limited market.

BTW you do now you wont be able to work properly in this weather unless you have a Gazebo/Halogen spotlights etc etc.

Im not going to offer the wheels services to people i dont know ie people on here.

I thought, its an obvious name last night but checked and i can only find crystal clean on there :D

very cheap for all that, could be a good and a bad thing.....

Good thing, otherwise i wouldn't be doing it

Yeah but youll always have those that are suspicious, granted youd be doing it for friends who trust you, a stranger with say a merc or BMW might not think that way...
Good luck with it

There may be an extra charge to cover petrol prices for the journey to you.
This is dependent on where you are.

£30 for a basic wash?
IIRC the place in the bullring/5 ways car park charge £20 for same thing and they use AG products. Not knockng you just informing.

Like your self, i started getting into this part time in the summer evenings to help keep my self going as i'm still an apprentice & to be honest its not as nice/fun as you think.. yea the first 10+ cars great but but after that its as boring as fook... dont get me wrong paint correction/restores are very rewarding but 95% of people wont see the diffrence between your self & the polish guys down the road charging a £5 for so called "magic wash & wax" & with out insurance its risky, you could simply trip/slip while washing a car & with a pc or even a bucket in your hand you could inflict paint damage & what makes it worse is on a nice & shiny freshly washed car it would be even more noticable.. this is before you've even gone into paint correction.. paint strike is not pretty :dead:

I know, thanks, but i'm not the sort of person who always thinks of the worst case scenario.

I'll let people know i'm not insured, maybe put a disclaimer up or something for cs members.

Tbh i would expect a pro to have snowfoam considering i have it myself, next you'll tell us you don't have a PTG!

I also think you need to appear highly professional, the market you're entering is very competative and has many established detailers.

You must have insurance if you're machining other peoples cars, there's a specialist guy who owns Coversure branch in Swindon, who is an amateur detailer and therefore understands perfectly what kind of cover you need, give him a call basic cover could be cheaper then you think.

Good Luck with your venture
Marc.

What's wrong with Autoglym ?

Absouloutly nothing, but other products can be better in different areas. You must of knew i meant that Rich

Thanks for the insurance link.

Can i just point out to you that im not starting any buisness and am not trying to compete as of yet.
Its purely to offer my services to friends family and if cliosport members want things doing im there to do it to a high standard but also quite cheap compared to if they went to a professional :D

Once i've done a car i can get my snowfoam lance pal

pritty much wat i charge, although im slighty cheaper than you. Tbh i only gave my prices as a rough estimate, as you cant give a set price, it depends on what the 'customer' wants, what products they want applied, wether it be for high shine or long durabilty. Also who they are, if i know the person well then im not going to try to make money out of them, thats just me though.
