Difference between 172 & 182 engine?

Hi guys

Just wondering what the differences are between the 172 and 182 engine.

Hopefully picking up a 172 tomorrow...

Is there an easy 10bhp to be found some where?

The 182's use the RS stamper lower inlet manifold, 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and a smaller cat.

Get the inlets matched, 182 manifold and a decat. Sorted!

Some on here are running the 182 manifold mini valver mentions on their 172's.
Tbh though 10bhp on the road isn't a mssive different though.

If i got an inlet manifold gasket from a 182 and handed that to a company capable of matching the inlet manifold, would that do as a template?

Aye better idea cat, ill just get both manifolds off a 182 lol, be a lot easier

No, the head is smaller than the gasket. If you port the manifold to the gasket you get a step=Worse than before.
