Dirty Wheels

Car  Yaris Hybrid

Ive had a fair few cars and many of them have had discs all round but this Clio is the first car I have ever had where the rear wheels get dirtier than the fronts?!?!?!?!

Why is that? I am really gentle on brakes. Not sure if all the dirt is brake dust and there is always a load of grit and mud on the rear wheels but none on the front.

Anyone else found this?

U got drums on the rear?

But that doesnt have anything to do with it because my last car had discs alround but the rears were always ten times cleaner.

Discs I believe are on the back. Thought it might be different brakes on the 182, but i didnt know.

i find em quite easy to clean tbh :) also find the back ones arnt that bad but the fronts could do with a wash every couple of days or so!

Fronts are usually the worst on mine.
I use the Autoglym alloy cleaner. Seems to work really well, though you need to leave it a bit and then go at the wheels with a brush. I had my previous Renault done with that paint protector they do and also had the spare bottles. A quick coat of the alloy wheel protector really helps reduce the dirt.

Alternatively see if you can get after market pads. I put EBC pads on a previous vehicle and they cut down on the dust a lot.

They are drums on the 1.4. and the diks on the front are the same as the 1.6 unless youve changed it from standard. I think the front ones are enough to clean!

So am I the only person here that finds their rear wheels (on a 182) get dirtier than the fronts?
