Disconnecting map sensor

  2014 Clio 200t edc
Should the car die if you unplug the map sensor while it is running? I unplugged mine (ph2 172) and the car cut out. Is that normal or does that mean it's not working properly?

As above, it is perfectly normal for it to cut out when the MAP is disconnected. It will restart and run without it but it won't be fun to drive.

Brilliant thank you both. @MicKPM nice to have you back on the forum. This heap will probably be winging its way to you at some point in the near future, especially if I can't solve the running issue.

Mine runs just fine no issues at all. Bring service and ESP lights on plus idle raised just above 1000rpm.
Seems a bit more torque.
