Discs and pads

  clio sport 172
What is involved in swapping the front discs and pads on my 172? I just got up off the floor after Renault quoted me over $300 for the discs and over $200 for the pads, supplied and fitted. This is on top of the power steering pump thats got to be shipped from Melbourne and will set me back another $1200 fitted, plus the service they are doing right now!
Ive not changed discs and pads for years, so am really rusty. As far as i can remember the tough bit is the pads. Dont the discs just have a retaining screw?

My local stealership wanted £200 + vat + labour for rear discs & pads recently.
They were politely told where to go ;)

also its VERY easy to do the brakes yourself, the guides are good one here too. i did my rear padstoday, took about 15mins per side - you dont have to take the caliper off

Cheers for the advice. Joined the club now and read the threads concerning my question. I did both sides in about 2 hrs (inc looking after my baby daughter!) and saved myself shitloads of cash.
I had one guy (Remember im in Oz and all they know is Ford and Holden) suck through his teeth and go
"Oh ,a Renault...they can be really hard sometimes. Im sure you have to take the whole hub apart and dismantle everything just to get the disc off"

"How much am i looking at?"

"Depends how long it takes"

I could hear my pants being pulled down as i spoke to the r****d!
