DIY exhaust fitting

  Dci 100
anyone replaced there own exhaust before,

I've gotta do some long motorway trips next weekend and I wanna refit my standard system (still in one piece) to the car ready for it

will i be able to manage with the car on axle stands or is a ramp needed, i know i need to drop the back axle to get the system fitted through the gap, which is easy enough

is there anything else i need to know...it seems fairly straight forward, seen it done loads of times before, is it easy enough to manouvre the exuast onto the brackets, or will it take me all day?

if its too much of a bugger i'll take it down ATS or somewhere for a quick job

I have never been to enthused about changing exhausts - for the hassle Id rather pay a couple of quid for someone to do it for me.

Never fitted an exhaust on a 172 but I've fitted at least on exhaust to all of the last four cars I've owned, ( 2 valver clios, 205 gti and a cav gsi), using a jack and axle stands and I have to say that it's easy, lying underneath a car that's only 2 feet off the ground is the only annoying thing.
