i had a 172, loved it, bought a 1.8T golf, great car, boring.
i bought a 280hp mitsubishi evo4, love it, the noise, the power, the looks iget driving it..........but.

I drove a stripped out Clio 2.0 Cup today for about 50/60 miles and i loved it! I really miss the gokart like feel that you get with the 2.0 clio's. To be honest, i'd rather have the stripped clio than the Evo.

get a mint ph1, and use the rest for insurance/mods! best thing i ever did

seriously, i'd get a cup; strip it, Coilovers, big brakes, buckets and harnesses and go have some fun.

if you want sheer power then buy something with a turbo, if you wanna fly round corners and imo have more of a driving thrill, then get a clio add a few 'performance' mods.

just as an example, you can get a mint 200sx for 5k, spend 500 on mods and use the rest on insurance and you will be looking at a sub six sec 0-60. Won't beat a clio round the twists though ;) , unless your a drift king.

lol ^^ thats what im afraid of

Ha ha! This is a clio forum! The Nissan will be a million times more reliable, even for a turbo. Anyway, it was only a suggestion, it depends what your after. Good luck in finding your new motor:approve:

i think a clio will be your best bet. oh by the way did i mention my 172 is for sale;)

  53 Clio's & counting
here is my 2p's worth mate

iv been driving coming up to 9 years now and iv owned 2 cars, most of them fairly sporty

iv owned a scooby,a uk prodrive fettled example, yes it was quick but i wouldnt have kept with my old hybrid at all, only 120+ were they about the same

and now that iv sampled a 172 id honestly say at the time i wish i had looked at a williams/172 instead of the scooby,as yes the scoob was great and handled amazing on the prodrive suspension but running costs were just too much,i mean 30 to fill the tank up and driving off boost i could get about 180 to a tank, and a to b the 172 isnt any slower and my hybrid would have had it for brekkie lol,so value for money id have to pick the clio

i will have another scoob one day,but only when i have enough money to be able to pay 1200 quid for a head gasket change (and that was cheap through a mate !!!)

Good man ;)

Any particular colour?

sunflower yellow... :D

if im not mistaken.. this is craig172's phquick

much more expensive to maintain.... and i would question reliability on a car that old... Even if the engine goes pop on the clio its not mega money to put right..
