Do I chop up my Yozza?

As title really, bought the car with a Yozza on, whilst I like the sound of it and especially the idle grumble it gives off.. I'm just not sold on the tips!

I have a bit of OCD/eye for detail, so the look of the tips are a thing for me and for the overall look of the rear.

The idea is, instead of going to my local exhaust fabricator specialist who can do some awesome jobs, as with my 1.4 182 replica exhaust on here;

Plan is instead of taking it for another full custom system, take it to chop off the tips and replace with some more in mind.. I'm thinking a lot like this:

They look like this at the moment;

A few of you might not see what I do but they have the double rolled effect, I love slash cut 3.5/4.0" exits, this one ain't doing it for me.

Reason I'm asking is because I know how rareish these things are now, would be a shame to chop up an original but in my eyes it would make it look better. Not a shoddy back street job either.

That or how much is it worth? Sell it and get a custom made one again.

Any one else who understands my silly first world problem?

I'd modify if you are happy with the current sound imo.

You won't likely get a custom sounding just like it, so I wouldn't risk getting a custom one made and it sounding like crap.

Heres a video of both exhaust sounds, a lot of people are preferring the custom one but then again it's custom so it's one off, all the sounds would be different

53 plate is the custom

If people agree with chopping it up then I'll go for it, not that opinions won't stop me, it's just more of a "classic hard to find" exhaust for these cars now.

If you're not happy with the Yozza tips, get some that you are , simple really . It's your exhaust , do it and don't bother what anybody else thinks .

  Clio 182
I have a scorpion exhaust, not the RS192 the one with just one back box. I love slash cut tips but for me they just don't work on a clio. My rolled tips looks much better imo- but again, people like different things
It's just an exhaust at the end of the day, start cutting!

Yeah they exist, "oval" apparently.

Right so now I've been persuaded/given the ok to chop up I also have pretty much the design ready. Pretty much that ^ but the size of the Racing Blue ones.

I'll update this thread in the future when it's happened. :)

I also hate the outwardly rolled tips - I think they look terrible and don't suit the clio at all. I would either go for inwardly rolled tips (I had on my Fiesta ST150 piper exhaust - 3.5" exit, looked perfect), or for the slash cut, which also seem to suit the rear end of a 182 nicely. Deffo get rid of the ugly outwardly rolled things.

EDIT - Just seen you've mentioned going for oval tips?! Don't do it, it will look TERRIBLE on a 182..

About to ask stainless creations in Falkirk if they can "modify" my Scorpion to have slash cut tips as I think they look great. Might have to ask about potential sound affects though. I really don't want a loud at 70mph noise.

Thought I'd update this as I said I would. So I went ahead and chopped up the Yozza! Got the cat to sleeve fixed aswell.
Anyway here's my now "custom" looking Yozza.. Sounds beefier and louder but that's probably just me and minus a hole in the sleeve joint haha.

Comments welcome. I prefer them :smile:

3n1/2" slash cut.
