Do I need a specific rear axle for disc-brake models? (Clio II / Thalia I–II / Twingo II)

  Renault 1.2 TCe D4Ft
Hello again,

Many Renault models (including the Clio II, Thalia I/II, and Twingo II) use the same basic rear torsion-beam axle. Some versions have drum brakes and others have disc brakes.

When replacing the rear axle, do I need to buy one that originally came with disc brakes, or can I buy a drum-brake axle and simply install my existing disc-brake components onto it?

So in other words, if I need to swap the rear axle of a Twingo 2 GT (disc brakes) and I find a replacement axle from a Twingo 2 DCi (drum brakes), I can swap the axle and convert it with my disc brake parts, right?

Yes and no , drum are bolted down on the rear axle with some bolts 4 or more same goes for disks , all you have to do is just get rear disks , calipers and caliper carriers , stub axle if they have and bolt all of this on your rear subframe , that how i ve done or go the expensive route and get a complete rear axle but be careful on the pattern on how it bolts down on the car subframe .

Yes, but I mean my actual axle with the disc brakes, should have everything I need for the conversion. Correct?
The car I want to repair is born with disc brakes and has everything mounted on a damaged axle.
