Do I use Fibre Glass or P40? (Boot Smoothing)

Basically doing a mod on my GTi tailgate with the latching system from the newer MK5+ golfs.
In the process of getting it aligned for welding I did cut too far on the left hand side. The welding is complete (welded on backside) although I have a large gap now on the left hand side. How should I fill this gap? Should I bridge it using P40 or use fibre glass?

Mix up some pre mixed fibreglass with body filler, it dries like rock, very hard. Bit of a s**t to sand down so dont apply it to thick, then skim it afew times with just filler, worked a treat on my tailgate.

Thanks! So am I right in thinking (I already have fibre glass) just get some resin, hardener, p40 and then mix them together?

We use a product called SMC. It's made by a company called UPOL it's amazing stuff! Goes rock solid, can be blocked with ease and takes filler really nicely
