Does anyone even play GTA IV anymore?

Went on yesterday for the first time in months, absolutely random game. Spawned to find to of the players on fire - One of which was running around with a dildo and a Bikini. Both of them being chased by half a helicopter, which was being chased by a bus.

But as the thread title says. Anyone fancy a blast tonight? It really is an 'I'm desperately bored' game though.

I'm still to finish the Ballad of Gay Tony DLC. It's really good, too. Just need to get back on it, as a few other games were out at the same time which put me off.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I hate games where you can go anywhere you want. I like games where you have a particular purpose and you know when you've done what was required i.e. go to next stage/level etc.
Assasins Creed is another one, could have been awesome, but too open IMO...

I do prefer open-form games, but I can definitely see where you're coming from on that. At times you want the game to show you the 'way' and for you to simply complete the task at hand - rather than visit 6 different parts of a map in the hope that that will allow you to progress.

Medal of Honour - Airbourne is one of my favourites for that.

yeah i enjoyed it, got onto the last mission and got stuck forever though. i also bought LOTD which i played for approx 1 hour. then my xbox died and i haven't played it since before forza 3 came out.

multiplayer was a laugh for about 30 mins, but it had no real purpose IMO.

This!^
Always idiots shooting at you when friendly fire is off, giggling down the mic like gorms as you walk away casually..
Irritating as hell sometimes but as you said. Laugh for 30 minutes ;)

I've done the Gay Tony one, i'm on the other one now (can't remember what i's called) which is better (nice cars and weapons!).

I love it, but i do get frustrated because it's still not true realism. Don't get me wrong, what you can do is amazing, but it still gets to me that i can't get in all buildings. I also HATE, HATE, HATE when you get in a rare car and then every fcuker is one! There are also no kids or animals, but i'll let that slide as they probably don't want yet more newspaper stories when 10 year old kids are decapitating babies in video games.

I am basically really sad and like collecting the best cars, getting them resprayed and cleaned and parking them outside my apartments LOL. One of the old games allowed you to have a few places with multiple garages and a i bloody loved it. That one where you could modify the cars was also cool (San Andreas?), why can't you do that anymore?!

The cars in San Andreas were horrible to modify though tbf. Who has a jap kit on a f**king Range Rover lol.

I can't decide whether I prefered VC or SA. VC for the tunes and it was also the first I played on PS2, played it for weeks. I guess SA was better as it added all the cool pointless stuff that you could just doss with. Parachutes, jetpack, hovercraft etc. I spent ages flying in the jet shooting other planes. Shame they got rid of all that random stuff. I had a hangar full of all the choppers and planes and all the bikes lined up in the garage at the airfield.

Don't get me wrong, it's cool to get your psycho fix for about half an hour, murdering everyone in sight and racing cops, driving tanks etc but it just gets boring - I mean who can even be a55ed to do the missions? Lol

There isn't as much to do in GTAIV that's for sure but I literally spent days doing nothing in SA and VC, just buzzing around in a gimp suit and dildo in hand.

Which one was the one with the 80s theme? Was that Vice City? That was probably the best of the bunch. I think few things can be as bizarre as mowing down a group of pedestrians at full pelt in a sports car while listening to Owner of a Lonely Heart by Yes.

Vice city had such a nice vibe to it!! They should make a Vice City 2. That would make things a lot more complicated!
