Does anyone know what this is

I had a K&N on here before and I sure it went somewhere? connected to it are one green and one white wire. The car is a 1999 1.2 Clio RN.

Any help will be grately appreciated!

This wire connects to your air temperature sensor which fits into the throttle body ( underneath the black pipe to the right ) it will have a white square plug with 2 spade terminals inside and a 17mm brass nut which holds it in position. The oblong connector shown plugs onto this sensor. The car will run a lot better with it connected.

i dont know what that is plugged into the original socket - it may be the air temp sensor that K & N supply with a kit - pull that out and plug it into the original sensor - like i say its on the side of the cylinder head under the throttle body
