Why this is on? (petrol light with 1/4 of a tank left).

FAO - ANDY @ GDI - do you know anything about this mate? I'm sure my petrol level was slightly below 1/2 tank on my way home yesterday then my car cut out once and it went down to 1/4 tank and the petrol light came on. Never happened before.

Filled the car to the top with petrol and the light went off. Level indicator in the tank must have got stuck or something.

That's happened to me before. Guage was showing 1/4 of a tank when the light suddenly came on and 1 mile later the car cut out.

I know what the fault is. It is a renault totaly unreliable rubbish, sorry but i have lost confidence with there products
