Dog bone bush?

  182 Cup
I've noticed my exhaust squeaks a bit when I'm driving along, especially going over bumps - there seems to be some play in it. I will be replacing the rear exhaust mounts, but would I be right in assuming that the dog bone bush may be having some contribution? I've noticed that between gear changes, the car 'thuds' into gear somewhat, suggesting to me there is quite a lot of movement in the engine. I understand these bushes commonly need replacing, but how will I know exactly that my bushes are problematic unless they are perished entirely?

Thanks.

One of the best mod's any 1*2 can have is to have the dog bone bush uprated to a power flex polybush one.
It does cause slight vibration in the car when on idle but this sometimes dies away and it is that small you end up forgetting about it.

Thanks MarcR. I've only heard great things; it seems worth doing whether it needs it or not.
