Drilled holes in plastic slam panel

  BMW M135i
bmh.01 correct me if I am wrong, but there are very few cars running High Comp are there? I thought most cars made circa 200 on cams?

Don't know of a great deal personally, couldn't tell you of one off the top of my head tbh. All I know is that anyone whos pushing 200bhp+ isn't using an open cone filter in the stock location for one.

I understand your point, but could there not be a decent gain from being High Comp?

I understand that the openfilter is probably loosing the guy power, I jsut think him and BBPT have been flamed enough

Whats with all the slagging off?

If you dont like so what, at the end of the day its somthing BB have done so its been done for a reason they are the feckin tuning company not you D1CKY (GOTTA SAY THE NAME SUITS YOU)

BTW im no chav the bay parts were bought from Russ@gas performance didnt see anybody slagging them off then!

Have you got somthing against me dicky???

No at all and i haven't posted this to **** your car off bud.

I think its nice but couldn't understand why they drilled holes in the slam panel to try and get more air in when the bonnet woul be blocking them off :S unless the bonnet's open during rr session (but as you don't drive with the bonnet open to get air through the holes :( the day to day power may be down on the rr figure as the bonnets closed)

And the open filter will be sooking in lots of warm air from engine bay to reduce power :(

And i never thought 220bhp was possible without turbo or tb's thats why i asked on here.

Never meant to offend ya ;)

  BB TUNED 182 (220BHP)
Cool no problem Im only going myself on what ive been told They say its 211hp on there RR vid

Which im more than happy with. ;)

As for the filter i dont know why they choose it myself? could be for the induction roar or or they might have some sort of deal with who ever makes them?

I know bb have allways used the green cotton so do prima racing.

I didnt think they actually made much differance antill you hit silly speeds?

Dont know where ive got that from must of red it somwhere. :D

  Clio 172 mk2
Seen plenty of BIG power cars running open/cone filters (Norris SWB evo for instance @ 800bhp) so obviously not a problem if you have them in the right place.

NeilG, the Norris Evo is also a charged engine and as such heatsoak isnt an issue. Heat soak WOULD be an issue on this car though as its NA.

Wrong

Heatsoak far more of an issue on Charged engine like evo and Subaru, especially when it comes to intercoolers getting warm

High temps often = det in charged engines which can result in holed pistons and fooked bottom end.

Bit more serious than power loss
