Drivers seat won’t tip forward!!

Drivers seat on my 182 wont tip forward i.e cannot let anyone get into the back seat from this side, any ideas?

Pull the handle harder.

You have to kinda lift your ass off the seat and pull it up yourself while pulling the handle. Not a great feature of the seat. LOL

If i pull the handle any harder ill rip it off.

Yeah lee very funny think i shall be paying renault a visit tomorrow.

DONT PULL IT HARDER!! IT WILL BREAK./..MINE DID.

If u feel the back of the seat from the bottom and run your fingers up you will feel a bar....push that in and up and the seat should tip forward and may unlock the seat.

I wasnt trying to be funny. LOL Thats the only way Ive ever managed to get mine to move.

The cables under the front seat come loose quite easily. Its a 2 min job to fix, it happened to my cup, and I assume that the seat design is more or less the same (apart from materials obviously!) Although, I wonder how many 182s have had, or are going to have the obligatory Serv/airbag light problem?

Welcome to my world. I have rear seats that no one sits in. Result.

This is well common

if you look under the seat you will see two biggish elastic bands

un-clip these and lift the seat back fabric up

if you look up and under this fabric you will see a cable that comes down from the handle at the top of the seat with a white cable end clip

this might have come out of a black cylindrical block

best thing to do is locate the retaining guide which this white cable end sits into and super glue it in place

this stops the seat from not tipping forward most of the time

have a look at your motor - if any probs PM

Been out and sorted it thanx for all the help although i havent super-glued it into place.

Will see how it goes for the time being as i very rarely carry rear seat passengers, it was just that my sister was getting married at the weekend and i needed to pick someone up. This is when it decided not to work.
