Drivers side inner cv boot burst

  RenaultSport clio 172 mk2
Hi guys, hoping some one can help me on this as Renault ireland haven't a clue, they say there is 4 different types of boot and cant tell, even with my chassis number which one I need. I've attached a photo, if anyone can identify it or supply a part no for it, I'd be most grateful. photo.jpg

God, I hope it isn't new shaft time, things are a bit tight at the moment, the car was driving fine, no noise or vibrations, it was spotted when i changed the tyres so i don't think it was like that for long.

new bootkit needed ...nothing wrong with the d/shaft.
even buying the four different types then return the 3 you dont need.

new shaft only fella, i've never seen a repaired one last long, they moddified the design of it on the new shaft to stop it happening

that sounds like a good idea,
but as I'm in Ireland, and the 172 was not officially available here, all parts are special order, nothing available off the shelf.

Thanks Fred, new shaft eh? Basically fixing the old one, in your opinion, is a false economy, as it'll go again soon enough anyway. I take it then the modified one utilises a more service friendly format?

Mine's the same. My mechanic fixed the outer cv boot on the other side, and found this in the process. He said he wasn't too worried about it, cos it doesn't 'move' as much being an inner CV joint. So, I'm only a bit worried... Was ages ago too.
