Suzuki Ignis
There is a squeaking coming from the offside wheel. Now Im guessing its the U-joint not the bearings as its a progressive squeak and not constant. It only squeaks if the wheels are at an angle, even the slightest bit, but not if I drive straight. Ive just changed the boot too as it had split, i packed in loads of grease and cant see any leakage, so it aint dry.
There is also a clonking if I have the wheel slightly turned and then touch the breaks.
There is a tiny bit of play in the wheel too, vertically, if I grab it from top and bottom it moves a bit. So this makes me think its the bearing.
I dont really want to replace the whole shaft.
What do you think it is?
Can you just replace the joint? How do you get the joint and shaft apart?
If I do need to replace the shaft, is a second hand part acceptable? Or is it a part you need to buy new?
Fred-Im sure you'll know something about the above but also I'm sure I read somewhere that you have a garage at Bruntingthorpe? Is this right?
I'll be down soon, might come pick ur brains if i aint got this sorted my then
Thanks if anyone can help!
Matt
