Droning noise coming from wheel when moving SOLVED

Re: Droning noise coming from wheel when moving

Fair do's. What did it end up costing if you don't mind me asking? PM if needs be :rasp:

Re: Droning noise coming from wheel when moving

Could have been worse if your wheel ended up falling off :) might be worth me getting it checked.

Re: Droning noise coming from wheel when moving

Suppose so...

Also bearings are more expensive if you have cup packs, didn't realise they used different ones.

Re: Droning noise coming from wheel when moving

My rear nearside bearing was noisy. I got both of them and the rear pads done for £140 fitted.

Re: Droning noise coming from wheel when moving

* Correction * price to replace my front bearing was £100

It was BOTH rear wheel bearings (cheers Fred). No wonder I couldn't tell where the noise was coming from?

I was told eventually the wheel, brake disc and everything would fall off if I left them, so I'd advise getting them checked out if you have any concerns.

One wheel bearing was about to fall off! Had them both replaced and the noise has completely vanished. Car is silent (apart from the Yozza) now!

ahhhhhhh iv got the same thing going on with one of the rear bearings and it a pain in the arsh, have not got around to fixing it but after reading about the wheel could drop off and s**t it gonna have to be the next thing on the list..

was thinking the same idea as (bren rogers) buy two bearing kits as i can get them pressed in by my mate at the garage for free...

DO NOT FORGET TO REFIT THE SPACERS!!!!

this was the problem on Jesus' car, and we see it ALL the time, just checked and we've done 23 spacers alone in december!

No spacer = wheel bearing failure within weeks

(fred@btm)...the spacers!!. you are on about here mate im thinking as long as it all fitted back the same way it comes off i will be fine yh....

u wouldnt have pic of were the spacersis ment to go just so i have an idea of cause were it gose....

cheers.....

you would think so, but the spacers have a habbit of sticking to the bearing when the old ones come off, people don't notice and they get thrown away

spacers sit on the stub axle (tapered side faces car) then the disc/bearing goes on

HUBNUT TORQUE IS 175NM!!!!! VERY IMPORTANT

ohhhhhh i get what u meen...also will make sure the torque is wright...

(fred), thanks for the info fella go man)....
