  Focus st3 & t5.1 day
Friends dont let friends roll on Ro..oh..

all jokes aside, Ive never been a fan of the black on black look, so I went shopping for some new wheels for the WRX..

Obviously its not the best time for fitting new wheels, especially white ones, but after taking delivery of them, and seeing them sat there everyday.. temptation took over and ive fitted them early!

direct wrx fitment 5x100, 17x9 et 43 in white :D I had wanted 18s but they are just out of budget right now so ive settled for the 17s

Sorry the picture quality is dire, forgot to get my camera out so I used my phone!

got them out the boxes

just needs a touch of camber and the coilys dropped abit lower!

on the hunt for sti fog covers, bumper winglets and splitter! Watch this space!

thanks for looking :)

she will be going lower again, dont worry :) when I first brought the car home it was too low, and I knew I wanted wider wheels, So I lifted the coilys as high as they would go ready to fit them, now they are fitted I can adjust from there! coming soon!...

I've got white bbs splits and given the weather atm you'll be annoyed in about 2 days with how dirty they get lol

ehh try one day, I fitted them, drove about 10 miles, and they were already filthy covered in road dust! good job I love cleaning the car haha

  MK3 GTI golf 16v
Haha yeah its annoying. I just put about 4 coats of wax on before they went on the car so at least there nice any easy to clean

  Focus st3 & t5.1 day
Looks great. Are they cheap federal tyres though?

yep unfortunately, my bridgestones have cracked around the center of the tread, see here:

and they were the best option in stock on the day for what I can afford at the moment, Until I get Paid, I use the car everyday so I cant afford to "shop around" or wait for better ones at the moment, I will however be investing in a set of R888's after winter :)

I also don't get stretch tyres, looks dangerous and the only reason why I see people doing it is because, "scene".

Smart car though, what happened to the cracking Bridgestones, any idea why that happened?

Stretch is fine as long as you don't go crazy with it

It's generally done so you can fit wide wheels on lowered cars without scrubbing the tyre on arches etc but some people take it too far and do it just for looks.

I think op s is perfect Stetch, looks perfect, makes the face of the alloy stand out more and look better compared to having full size tyres on

  Listerine & Poledo
Nice motor!
Except the stretch, which I'll never understand as surely it's just taking away contact-patch area for the tyre. I guess it's all 'scene' though.
For a performance car, that's not a good thing, surely. I've not seen a Zonda, Lambo, Caterham or Ferrari wearing tyres that are too small.

  Focus st3 & t5.1 day
I'm not 'taking away' any performance, same size tyres that came on the standard 7J wheels, so the same amount of rubber touching the floor..

As above its so you can fit wider wheels to lower cars so they don't catch the arches, some people take it too far for the sake of 'scene' but I did alot of research as to what size to go for, and I think it works perfect :)

Cheers for the comments, as it stands the car is a dream, the only downside is the mpg being my daily, not smart! But life's too short to drive boring cars, right?

Roll on karting Saturday!!

I don't get white wheels on some cars. Especially not Black! Aren't those fullrun tyres? In the winter?

At least it 4wd!

I'd say the stretch is probably irrelevant given them tyres will be beyond rubbish anyway.

Still, I'd rather be driving it with y0! sik mad stretch on Federal Ditchseeker Pro8s in snow than Listerine

I really like the wheels, but not the colour. Silver would have been mint.

Tyre choice is abysmal though, stretched simply isn't needed (especially when you consider the intended use for stretched tyres). Basically all you've done by fitting that size tyres is say "I could have had more grip, but I decided to try to be cool instead".

Lol I had full runs on the front of the TT when I got it. Even 4wd it just went straight in corners.
Looks alright, personally needs 18's for me but it's not my car.

I had one on the Saab at the front, I don't understand how they are allowed to be sold! Dangerous!

Genuine question; what's the point of fitting wider wheels if it's not to improve your tyre width/contact with the road?

Seems odd to go to the expense of wider wheels...but fit the same tyres that were fitted to the narrower ones!

You could fit racing slicks to the front and winters to the rear and, even in the height of summer, that would still be the end result.

Lol! With decent tyres it'd get round corners just fine. In fact very quickly. (You just didn't have a clue what was going on)

Thanks for the good comments.. The tyres are fine, they hold the road better than the bridgestones ive taken off.. I dont drive the car to its limits, so I have no understeer issues, its my daily, not a track car.. I will be buying better tyres after winter, when its safe to drive with more enthusiasm  but right now, as I said above, I wasnt expecting to need new tyres so soon, and I dont have enough money or time to wait and shop around for better

I wanted wider wheels coz the standard 7J's look way too skinny for the big wide arches, the car WILL be going lower (not slammed, just a touch) so the SLIGHTLY stretched tyres are needed, if I went for wider tyres, they would rub..

I understand its not everyones taste, but it is mine, and thats what I bought the car for..
I appreciate criticism, im just glad im not asking some of you to drive it!

maybe I should have bought turinis and fitted a yozza system, I mean, im half way there, she already pops and bangs lol

Cheers.

Bit of a bump on this,

About to order some new tyres, will be putting these 225s back on the standard wheels as a spare set and ill be going for 245s for the Rotas..(don't worry, they will be branded not linglongs)

Now I'm thinking of changing the colour, the white is awesome but I can't help but feel they would suit a darker colour better,

So the question is, what colour?

I'm leaning towards a light-ish grey colour, satin finish preferably, I don't like silver so that's ruled out..

Any input? Cheers

Good lad! I'm pretty jealous actually as I had a black blobeye and bought all the stuff to go on it (winglets, STi splitter, HT Autos carbon rear diffuser) and was about the buy the box spoiler before I sold it. These, in bronze and 18" were my wheel of choice. I wish I'd kept it :(
