dvd write help req!!!!

i bought this drive >>>

bought some DVD+rw's today - put one in the new drive and it wont pick up/detect the dvd disc - put a normal cdr (700mb) into drive and it picks it up and burn two files onto it - why wont it detect the dvd disc and let me burn???

u recon? come as a box of 20 so will try another disc! wont be cause its dvd+rw's will it and should be using -'s instead as product description says i think i can use both!

No, coz your drive can do both. Hence the '±'

its picking up the dvd now - as empty - but when i try to copy some files accross it comes up with ' windows encountered a problem when trying to copy this folder. what do you want to do? Retry - Skip - Cancel '

What are you actually trying to copy and do?

I always use RiDisc discs and never have any trouble with any of them.

I always use Nero for burning.

dont u have to format rw disks before u can use them?

You using windows built in writer?

If so dump it get nero or something similar its bloody awful the one that comes with windows.

Likes to throw errors up etc.
