Joes BG182 Money Pit..

Did want a 98ron map on it, but from what I've read, although the 98ron is an amazing upgrade I'd rather get a map that's custom to the engine and the mods associated with it if you know what I mean. Burning money lol

Agree on a custom map in some ways mate but its questionable if its worth it on a n/a clio car looks tip top btw

Did it on the 1.4 replica, it's got black insert xenons. I liked it at first but a side by side comparison of them the grey suits the black car much better. Like a contrast of colour rather than just jet black everywhere :) won't be tinting the windows on this one either.. Too much black!

Fair enough mate! Your choice at the end of the day:up: i think its comparable to an old lady's new hair do on Michelle Keegan's body personally but whatever floats :smile:
Exhaust looks spot on! That guy near you works wonders on exhausts:wink:
Totally agree on tints, big no no imo.
Cars looking very good already mate!

A whole plate refresh was actually one of my first things to do including the recessed 3/4 plate. However I'm looking into buying my first private plate so plan is now to wait until I do that then get some fancy plates in :smile:

Got some better photos of the finished turini's.. £180 total for the refurb.

And then the battery died again.

:up:

Bought yet even more Detailing stuff... I'm sure I'm over £250 spent so far. Anyway got these from ShopnShine again. Awesome service and great guy who runs it if you pop in:

296CA40E-170C-4165-A749-86CCCBB85839.jpg

Also got a valet pro wheel brush on the way.

1.4 is no longer insured after today (26th October) the insurance starts on the 182 tomorrow (27th) and I'll be moving into the new shoe permanently. Cars booked in at a wheel specialist tomorrow to put the turini's and tyres on without any grease monkeys scuffing them.

Seriously shiny in the flesh. Shitty iPhone won't pick it up. I used this time;

- Poor boys spray & wipe for a waterless wash.
- chemical guys wet mirror finish.
- muc off spray on carnuba wax to top off.

See how it looks tomorrow with new shoes :smile:

Minor update..

Bought a set of CREE LED reverse lights. £16! Either way things are next level.. Here's some various stages:

In daylight;

73278790-A48F-43E3-8A39-F56412C1B836.jpg

At sunset;

AAA46187-A24D-4A22-871B-B800E4CEF9AC.jpg

and at night;

432749E8-9E06-4D8A-9C2F-9A8C23221CBC.jpg

Very useful! And very mental! As you can see I have a dark narrow driveway and these suit just fine. Can barely even see the brake lights whilst reversing. No more reverse lights being drowned out by the brake lights :)

Also bought some Yellow silicone vacuum/water hoses 5mm (actual size turns out to be 4mm but 5 is fine) got impatient and halfway fitted them in the dark. They Replaced the black water hoses for the windscreen washers..

Loving it! :cool:

The rest of the water hoses going into the washer pump are even smaller, 3mm I'm guessing so ordered some of that to continue with it/complete it. Until then I'm very impressed. Brings it all together! Just the inlets to go now..

Drivers rear tyre keeps on going flat. Got it sorted today. Was multiple things..

1: Valve needed replacing
2: Nail in the tyre
&
3: Corrosion on the inside

So got all of that sorted and so far so good! We'll see soon enough.

Here's some photos in action:

Do I believe it though? No.

Saying goodbye to the car tomorrow. Don't know for how long but mechanic/Renault specialist family friend is taking it tomorrow to finally health check it/replace fubar parts and fit everything I've bought, which off the top of my head is;

- Matched Liquid yellow inlets
- Englarged LY throttle
- gloss black fuel rail
- V6 airbox
- Brembo HC Front discs
- Brembo front&rear pads
- Hel Yellow brake lines
- Superblue racing brake fluid
- Various yellow silicone hoses
- sub power from bay to cabin
- front washer blanks&washer delete
- hardware dash cam to cig lighter
- remove Acoustic valve

???

Sure there's more but it's quite a list.

Meanwhile off to detail brothers new car tomorrow. Already spent a day machine polishing it all to get the paint as good as I can and tackling it all with these

Next update should include lots and lots of pictures of the near finished product :smile:

Awesome stuff! Being sad and rewatching my daily driving for today hahahaha. It'll wear thin though.

Got the sub wire all connected in properly. Didn't do it myself haha, it's been wired through with the bonnet release catch.

Washer blanks are on, keep on forgetting about these! Much prefer them but like I said, keep on forgetting about them so not that fussed lol

Yeeeaahhh. Still not done. Throttle was letting in too much air on idle which in return fxcked the revs up. So email to the guy and he's setting me up with another one whilst I send that one back. Meanwhile the original unpainted one is on. For now.

As for performance upgrade.. It's defo a lot more "rearing to go" but then again probably a placebo effect. There's no massive "yeah this is defo on!" Feel but I can feel it. Also the V6 airbox is on. The sound has changed. On idle, revving, low revs, high revs you get the idea..

Love it!

The sound is a lot deeper, more deep growling/roar! Sounds like a proper beast. Huge change from standard airbox. Unsure if it's the inlets too but yeah. Sound is awesome :cool:

  Black Gold 182
Great thread this mate! Been reading all the updates :wink: after fitting your inlets and enlarged throttle body will you need to get it remapped? In the process of doing the same thing :wink: cars looking epic!

Thanks man :smile: won't need to get it re mapped no as its only letting more air in. nothing major like cams or boost that needs custom mapping.

I am however, plan is anyway to take it to RSTuning in Leeds earlyish next year and get it custom mapped.

The arctic 182 I had was mapped. It was in a whole different league of it's own. This one is decent on picking up speed but nothing like that one. I'm pretty sure a map would replicate that! We'll soon see though. If not then fast road cams it'll be after haha. Never ends.

Payday. So it's been like Christmas today with all the post.

Got a few more detailing bits and fallout 4 there from @leeds_182, super fast postage haha!

- Swissvax leather brush.
- Colljnite 845 winter wax
- Victoria concours wax
- chemical guys fabric clean stain remover
- chemical guys hex logic pad.

Been itching to use the collinite for a while, need some winter protection on the car. Never used a heavy duty wax before. So naturally I cracked on with it. Amazed at the results! Although thinking about it, it is an actual wax. Glides on, hard to get out and easy to buff off. The shine is unreal. There's nothing else but this on. Washed and stripped the car and then applied this. Here's some iPhone shitty photos;

  Skoda Fabia VRS
Progress is fantastic on this, really turning into something special. I think I've got the same dashcam as you, but I'm too lazy to wire it up properly and use it. Also my SD card is full, and I cba to format it lol.

Cheers dude, slow progress but getting there haha. And get on installing the dash cam, things are awesome. Caught loads of driving retards. Including myself... Haha.

Cracked on with the samco induction hose. As I've read a few times before quite a few people had to cut theirs down in order for a snug fit. I had to do the same with the v6 box and battery cover,

Ended up taking this much off;

Meanwhile cars become possessed and likes to drive around in low revs and low mph by itself. Constant cruise control :up:

Need to get it looked at by some electrical wizard. Although it doesn't actually affect the car... It's massively irritating.

How'd you find the new inlet ect? Thinking of making a purchase as it'd be easier the way you did it, not sure what colour on mine though.

  Phase 2 Iceberg 172
Got a link to those cree led reverse lights? my house is in a street with no street lamps so reversing in the narrow driveway is a pain..

Not a noticeable difference, it is slightly more pokey on a standard factory map though, defo noticed that. But also had the V6 box put in. Lovely roars even in low revs ;) eagerly waiting on saving up for a trip down to RSTuning early next year. See how it goes then!

Not much you can do with blue! I'd say black and blue. Extremely fresh look! I'm lucky with black as literally everything goes with it. Could've done black and pink and it still would've came out nice haha.

I LOVE the black and yellow bay mate.. Looks fantastic. Might have to try some of that winter wax too. Mine gets covered in shite in the winter as its a daily, looks super shiny. Good work

Cheers man :) I still have the liquid yellow throttle to go on, then getting an OMP strut brace in ... Yellow. Lol, settle on a rattle can paint for that. Then much later down the line yellow samco coolant hoses! Then I'll be done! Yellow callipers next though.

Winter wax is awesome! Really oily shine! Comes straight back with a quick detail too. It's still beading now.

Minor update..

Yellow calliper paint arrived
