Jeez, someones had a payday :wink:😂. I bought huggies when i got paid to :wink:. I love my aqua deluxe, need to invest in some more detailing brushes, you've just reminded me.

I'll get a couple of updates done on my thread then, i've been spending money, just more mechanical. Makes sense tho as when i do my cambelt, i wont have an invoice so will need pics as proof

Lmao I thought someone would mention the huggies, tis just a box we use to store things.. Obviously haha.

I bet you're catching some detailing bugs from seeing all this stuff on here haha.

You getting the cambelt done by a specialist? I would if I were you (but I'm not so can't say anything haha) but I've seen threads on quite big power drops on Belts not timed properly.

Yeah yeah its all lies :wink:.

Big time mate, just bought some brushes, a glaze and sealant yesterday and might buy another wax in a min. And maybe a few other bits to sort my leather out. What was that black dye you bought again? might invest in a kit price dependant.

Doing it myself bud (well not technically, with a friend whos a mechanic) we have access to autodata plus i've done some research and as long as you use the proper renault tools and make sure its 100% timed up before you put it back together its not too bad. I have also worked out i will be saving £410 by doing it myself and thats still using genuine renault kit

Update time! Just got back from driving a good hour and half away (to meet halfway) @JON FOZ for his Trophy/V6 spoiler :cool:

Top guy and had a good chat! After a cup spoiler and abit of £££ lighter I'm now home with it:

Just a generic black at the moment. Will get resprayed along with my rear bumper by my brother down the line. Until then it's sitting here.

Here's the (we think) actual colour it was;

Can't decide whether it was a trophy or Mars red V6?

Haha my thoughts exactly, sounds better saying it was once off a glorious V6 which is now probably RIP. Does seem Mars Red but can't be sure.

Here's it on-ish.

Meanwhile I now have to source some shorter boot struts and better fixing screws for the Middle section as it catches on the roof regardless of the struts.

Just nipped to local scrappy to get some better screws... Found this

Been raided pretty well. Only managed to get front arch liners .. Bargain price of £5 all in :cool:

I asked how much he sold the cup spoiler for... Wait for it...

£20.

Proper shame i didnt see these before i bought my dash strips mate. Ahh well, cheers for keeping me in mind tho :grin:. Whats the reason for replacing your arch liners?

No worries mate :blush: and the car never came with the front ones, due to it being lowered so much they got rid due to rubbing, planning on maybe slightly raising it as it is really low. Fit them back in if they don't rub

Ahh yeah that makes sense mate, your on coilovers?. I need a new drivers one after that run in with the stick 😂

Can't believe how badly you got done over by a stick lol.

And yeah the only mods the car came with was a BMC panel filter, Yozza exhaust and K-Tec Coilovers. Oh and a fresh years MOT passed 4 days before I went to go view it haha :smile:

Sneak update preview for some future updates. Ordered a few more in different MM sizes so should get a lot of if done. Truly getting Black & Yellow!

55538F5B-81A7-4B8E-83E1-25CEE922EA58.jpg

Silicone hoses for the coolant will be ordered mid next year. Too much important stuff to do rather than an expensive cosmetic mod.

More again of a preview of an update, more conduit in various sizes have been showing up to my house along with yellow electrical tape to keep it all together. Not done yet still missing a few parts but this is what I have at the moment (also gloss fuel rail guard on);

Slowly getting there.

Also after 2 weeks and fetching the parcel myself because yodel suck. This finally came/bought back home:

Lots of interior carbon dipped! Not wrapped.. Stuff :smile:

I'll be using:

Dash strips left and right
Door speaker covers left and right
Door pull handles L&R
L&R Air vents
Dash strip just above air con controls
Hazard panel

And undecided on the main clock surround as its a glue gun job to take off and bond back on.

The dipped stuff looks awesome mate. Looks like its a lighter carbon than most people have.

Cheers dude and yeah it is, don't know if I would prefer darker through as its a black car but OCD and all that.

Not sure whether to use the complete centre console set up either like so;

Hm
See what you mean, as you have paid for it I would keep it. Looks good now its fitted.
Bet your OCD is noticing the weave goes the other way on the centre console.

Another update:

After much yellow loom showing up at my house I'm around 95% done with it, just two more wires to cover and that'll be that. Until then this is how it's looking now;

I also bought this ages ago but wasn't sure on it, tried it out and I really like it :smile: blends in well with the car being black so it's not so in your face as with my 1.4 and white URL stickers. Just need to order one more for the other side:

With the carbon dipped parts update, I think I've settled on what I will use. Those being:

- Dash Strips
- Lip above air con module
&
- Speaker covers.

The rest to me is too much and will start to spoil the car imo. Less is more :wink:

Also took the rear F1 team sticker off. Didn't like it much so it's gone.

01A5EF2D-D50F-4C76-B616-CE76A94D005A.jpg

That's it for physical updates.

Today I've also gone to my friends brothers to drop off the Turini's :smile: they should be done by next Friday, maybe. Again going for a bright silver with metallic "star" type flake in it :up:

Also gone to the local exhaust fabricator next to me. Same guy who did my 182 replica exhaust on the 1.4.

Cars booked in on the first day I start driving it (27th October) to get the Cat to Sleeve fixed and to chop off my exhaust tips. Although I love th sound of the Yozza, the outwardly rolled tips I can't stand. Will be going for a 4/4.5" rolled slash cut tips :cool: here's the current state for reference:

Awesome spider web from bumper to floor there too. Still on 77K and hasn't moved for 4 months now. Recharged the battery about 5 times.

Decided to reveal what's under the back seats today.. The results:

Car was once lady owned, so probably once a family car? You would think so with the selection of crayons, haribo, pens, stickers, loom bands and even sea life safari tickets from Birmingham. All adds to the history and character of the car.

Anyway looming is now 100% done and this is what I have:

Just waiting on matched inlets, throttle body and fuel rail to all go on :smile:

Cracking on mate!, definaltey been a family car at one point haha. Whats holding you back on fitting your matched inlets again?

Barely drove the car as it is yet, can barely remember the Arctic one I had for a week so plan is to drive it .. Hard. For a good week or so when it's on the road and once my week of fun and feeling the feel of the car, take it to family Renault mechanic to fit everything I've bought (inlets, brakes etc) and whilst he's at it check it over thoroughly to find anything else that may need doing.

Then see if I can feel a noticeable difference between standard car and matched inlet car with v6 box and enlarged TB. And see how sharp the braking will be!

Seen you got some silicone hoses! The red ones from the for sale section? If so utter bargain mate. You'll have to colour code the engine bay red now.

Ahh that makes sense, dont think i could have them sat there and not fit them, i would get too impatient haha. I would be interested to see if its a noticable difference with the matched inlets, i hope it is tbf. How long you got to go now until you can drive it?

Dunno on the red theme, unsure if it will work with the blue. But also dont know if now the red will clash with everything else. Im so undecided 😂

True that
Dunno on the red theme, unsure if it will work with the blue. But also dont know if now the red will clash with everything else. Im so undecided 😂

Hahaha yeah not sure on red with blue either but now you've got the hoses.. No choice! Otherwise it'll look weird with just red hoses! Commit :wink:

Cars the road 27th October! Not long now before it drinks all my petrol once again haha

Another detailing update because obsessed haha

BF657255-313D-49FB-8026-27745BB2AAF9.jpg

- wet mirror finish for some cheaper topping slickness :cool:
- hybrid v7 QD, too many raving reviews online so had to try it!
- chemical guys signature glass cleaner.
- auto finesse revive for parents new car so I can give that a detailing go.
- Menzerna 2400 swirl remover Polish with green pad to correct my paintwork 99% :cool:

And refreshers pot because love that smell!

More shine updates to follow :smile:

Trophy/BMW Boot struts :up:
Was going to order the trophy ones from SGS but the BMW ones are apparently the same and better quality.. Plus cheaper! So I got them :smile:

Old vs New; shorter ones are obviously the new ones lol

Spoiler don't touch now :cool: before I got some really uneasy speaking noises when fully opened on the old struts!

C585345B-E45D-4F04-A190-47D21535D623.jpg

Struts are overall a better quality. I open the door and the thing literally flings open and stops perfectly. Also takes some pressure to shut it now so overall a much better build quality with the spoiler now protected :smile:

After another recent issue with my crankshaft sensor.. Turns out it wasn't even an original part! So new one needed it is. Quick look on ebay and came across one off a 172 cup I believe and sorted a quick buy it now for £10. The seller turned out to be a member on here @JJS1979 :wink:

A477684C-3905-4C3F-8580-1384D248A81B.jpg

And old vs new.. Well, OEM vs aftermarket;

DDB6C80C-27AD-43CA-9AB6-9E5AB5161E77.jpg

All fitted and working until I get more funds to dump £60 on the newer "non fault" one.

Also i couldn't wait and bought some washer blanks..

A07A9123-EE95-4593-AADA-A6BD153FC9FC.jpg

They're the ebay ones with the slight grooved edge to fit into place.. We'll see how we get on!

But first they need painting! Doing them myself with the stuff left over from the engine cover paint job.

56E38922-7D3E-4730-9700-6AC72D30064C.jpg

More to follow soon.

Cracking on mate, cant be too long to go now before you can drive it. How much did the washer blanks set you back? make sure you get lots of layers of lacquer on them :smile:

Yes mate, end of this month. Already wondering whats gonna break down on me lol, i have high hopes for this car as you can tell haha.
Washer blanks were around 35 i think incl postage, painting stage and flatting down is done, now its just like you say, 16 layers of laquer to guard against the stone chips lol, how are yours holding up?

Just a general shine/detail update.

Bought this;

Waterless wash by poorboys, tons of 5 star reviews online and a video on YouTube, shiz does work really well! This is what the cars covered in:

11B9C306-996A-4AEC-B002-E0F8ECED7477.jpg

About 2 weeks of neglect, dust, tree sap, bugs, death, farts, whatever. Cars gets caked in shite instantly as this is what's surrounding me ..

6222681C-C4AE-4FAB-AED4-F479D718674B.jpg

Trees. Lots of. Plus being on a country lane dust is everywhere. Anyway from what the cars caked in and one spray and two passes of this stuff left me with this:

69BCA187-FF09-4676-8355-0855931ED40D.jpg

97% clean! Works wonders. Will work 100% in one pass (wipe) if used as a maintance spray/wash. That's 2 weeks ish worth of neglect, dust, sap, bugs ^ so :up:

Also did/tried to do a 50/50 go of chemical guys blitz and wet mirror finish. Here's the results:

I can barely tell a difference, I'm not sure of what WMF actually is but its my favorite choice now, although with the cleaning compounds in it I can't use it over anything. Have to compare with black hole next.

As for blitz, for a sealant it has some awesome shine and reflection! WMF seems to be thicker, you can tell the cars got a coat on it. Possibly WMF then seal with blitz for some :cool: looks.

Meanwhile blanks be ready for 9000 layers of laquer

9519A24D-73F0-4931-B313-3AD0BD53C155.jpg

Also.. Parents bought a new car, WMF + Butter wet wax is a winning combo for its colour

2C481B74-691A-4E1A-9515-424966BA8181.jpg

I finally get to play with another colour other than black now :smile:

More tiny small engine bay updates. Bought a yellow paint pen, new F1 team sticker (black F1 logo this time) and 2x CS.net url stickers, one yellow and another antracite for my other window.

Bough the pen for these jobs:

Looking tired and worn out so cracked on.. Still need a couple of more coats. Also done the washer pump yellow :blush:

As for the stickers.. Their new home is here. I'm loving it haha, fits in perfectly imo

Itching to get everything else on and sorted now.

In other news turini's are in a backlog of work so their gonna be a while before I see them again. No rush though!

Going to get the car booked in earlyish 2016 at RSTuning to get a custom map and rolling road.

Brothers work should be slowing down fast toward end of October November time so rear bumper and trophy spoiler respray should be done then.

Still got a list of things that I will be getting eventually for sure:

- Whiteline Rarb.
- Solid top mounts.
- FK euro rear lights.
&
- Full set of PS3's

Started a little project of getting the underside of the bonnet as Mint as I can get it. This is what I've got to tackle (lots of grainy paint) so see how that gets on. If it fails, the deadening goes back on lol.

BE64AD7E-3247-44CE-B1C0-DF5898C75F87.jpg

The money pit now be insured!
Went through green light. Cheapest I could get online was around £670/£64month. With greenlight £450/£45month! Awesome stuff! I'm paying £57 a month at the moment for the 1.4 so it's a huge drop! But the savings will go straight into the petrol tank :up:.

Last day off work today. Bought a Velcro backing plate, got my green waffle pad out, menzerna power finish, literally 6 hours later and..

Half a car later and wrecked forearms I'm 95% swirl mark free! Fresh paint! :cool: Should be barely anything stopping my ultimate mirror finish now. Keep it protected by washing drying and glazing&waxing correctly to reduce any swirls.

Be next week til I get to do the other half. Pictures speak for themselves.

Update! Footwell lights/courtesy lights :smile:

Always wanted to do this but never pulled my finger out to do so. So after much faff reading up on threads already asking about it and how to install I gave in and bought 2x 20cm ice white led strips with cable attached. Still no idea what to do really so played around with failed scotch locks and eventually came to just wiring them direct into the dome light. Up under the headlining. Down both passenger and drivers pillars. Dropped through the dash and stuck underneath (came with self adhesive backing stickers). Took around 4 hours total and that's learning too. If I were to do it again then an hour and half easy if not less now.

Comes on and off with unlocking and locking doors and opening and closing etc. also toggle them on or off with the dome light buttons instead.

makes a MASSIVE improvement! Seriously. The LED dome light is useless now. Loving it! Should've come standard! Can't see anything in daylight which I like. But at night it's quite simply amazing lol. Going up in the world :wink:

Being Ice White it has that slight blue tinge too which I think is :cool: like a 7/8000K xenon white.

Total cost: £12+my noob hours.

Here's the photos;

Dash and relevant parts removed .. Again.

IMG_0455.jpg

The strip itself coated in a gel so no catching on clothes etc;

Finally lit up!

And finally in place :smile:

Bare in mind the LED dome light is also "on". Can't see it lol.

:cool:

Only downside is that it shows up every little spec of dust and crap on the floors. Another excuse to keep it clean!

:smile:

Just got one photo for now but I finally got all these back. Get some better pics when the suns gleaming off them but for now;

Sheepish I know. But you everyone knows they look good :wink: especially bright "sparkle silver" against mirror black :cool: Yellow callipers next ..

My mate owns your old Arctic 182 now. He's keeping it mint.

Haha! That's awesome, wondered what happened to it. I sold it to a guy who lives in Sheffield then no idea who he sold it too. I also bought it off a dude who lives near me in Nottingham, a guy you'd Defo avoid in the streets, 6ft? Huge, tattoos on his face but was an awesome guy. He put the fast road clutch on it. He told me he bought it off a "rich guy" who owned it as a weekend track/pocket rocket toy along with his other apparently huge expensive collection. He (rich guy) apparently changed the cambelt which I never trusted so your mate needs that doing if he hasn't already! That's history of 4 owners right here out of what? 12 now I think? All I know was the thing was on another level. Engine has been mapped, the 5K kick was down in the 2/3K range, mental thing! Loved it but it drank all my money in fuel everyday. Wasn't ready for it. Fast forward a year and here I am. Is he on here?

Insured the car for the day! Was booked in at the ass crack of dawn at my local exhaust fabricator. Fix the cat to sleeve which he ended up chopping out completely and replacing entirely with some craftsmanship haha. Hated the Yozza outwardly rolled exhaust tips so got them cut off too and replace with 3n1/2inch slash cut ones...

Picture whoring in asda...

Took the opportunity to take some more photos properly of the car whilst it's unleashed. Here's the result;

Brakes are shocking but that's why I've bought a whole brake refresh to go on soon.
Quite pokey, but will be wanting to remap it for some more lower down performance. Get it booked in at RSTuning early next year.

Car drinks fuel but I was expecting that. Took 3 bars in 70 miles hahaha. Was booting it around a bit though :blush:
